Hello everyone,

For those that don't know, there is an excellent webcomic by my good friend Neal Bailey (writer) with awesome art by :icondexterwee: called Cura Te Ipsum. They've been running a kickstarter campaign, and while they've reached their goal (that's how good they are!), there's still a few days left for you to help them out with donations, but most importantly, you'd get some great deals by donating, and if you've never read their comic, you'll never regret it. Guaranteed.

To visit their kickstarter, select a plan, and donate, go here www.kickstarter.com/projects/8…

To visit Cura Te Ipsum's site (webcomic updates 3 times a week), go here: www.kickstarter.com/projects/8…

If you check their comic, make sure to let me know what you think! :)

Didn't want to visit much DA, at least until I was done with The X-Men lineup. Now that it's done I realize I have a ton (for my standards) of feedback messages to reply. It's going to take forever to reply to all those. Just in case, let me thank each and everyone of you that has added me recently to your watch list, and thanks to all those that have been watching me for a while but decided to add something from my gallery to your fav's. Let's see if I have more activity in this place from now on.

I had a relapse on freaking World of Warcraft. Had been gone from the game for over a year, but now I'm hooked up again. I'm lucky I'm don't drink, smoke or do drugs, I'd probably be a bad addict. :-/

For the past month-and-a-half I've been on a long break, but tomorrow I'm going back home. I'm gonna post some stuff from work I did just before leaving for vacations. I was thinking I was going to have time to do some vector Justice League International, but of course, there was no time for that. At least I've recharged my batteries, so I should be able to jump back into work, do some fanart AND a secret project I've been discussing for years with a buddy of mine, who is a writer.

Will be back just in time for the Venezuelan elections on Sunday, no idea how that's going to turn out, but I'm hoping for the best.

Don't worry, zero spoilers. I'll just say that it was worth the wait. The movie delivers on the promise we were given during Iron Man in 2008.

How do I wish Warner were serious like this about their DC movies. I know most people love Nolan's vision for Batman, but I'm in the minority that thinks Batman could be done different, without having to sink into the awful camp of the Schumacher movies or the all-style-zero-substance of Burton. Other than Nolan's Batman we've been treated to a Superman movie that was the "chick-flick" of superheroes, a semi-sequel to a movie from the 70's... oh, and a Green Lantern movie that was a mess, I rented it, and couldn't sit through it. I shudder to think about what Nolan, Snyder and Goyer might have come up with to "ground" Superman.

As a general rule, I dislike superhero movies, they almost never hit the mark. But, starting with the first Iron Man, I felt that the Marvel Studios movies (with the exception of Incredible Hulk) were aiming to make movies that were not ashamed of the source material, that actually embraced it and had fun with it.

My hope is that The Avengers marks a definitive shift in the approach this type of movies are made, and that the school of thought that began with X-Men (how would superheroes work in the real world) fades out.

Admittedly, a JLA movie, if done right (not like that cancelled project where the actors cast were all 21 or 22 years-old), would dwarf what I just saw in the Avengers... which might be cost prohibitive. The power scale of the DC pantheon is on an entirely different level. The other thing is that a JLA movie will now be seen as Warner trying to play catch-up with Marvel.

/rant over.

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in taking a poll, to help me decide which three lineups I should do next. I'll give you eleven choices, and the top 3 with more votes, I will do. There is a catch tho: you won't know which specific characters are in that lineup until I publish it here  :B (but the lineup names give you a pretty clear idea which characters might be included).

There is plenty of time to vote, since I figure I'll be plenty busy for at least the next couple of weeks.

Which brings me to the reason I haven't uploaded any more lineups recently: I've been very busy working on something I can't say much about except it's about monsters and a local brand of snacks. When I'm allowed to show the artwork, I'll upload it here. :)

Anyways, back to the poll. I've had a few of people request me specific lineups, so I think this is a way to show appreciation to all you people kind enough to add me to your watch list! :)

Since I don't have DA Premium, here is the link to the poll:
www.easypolls.net/poll.html?p=…

Please vote, it'll mean a lot to me! :) If you will, leave a comment to let me know what you voted for.

Thanks for your time!

Dan Didio and Geoff Johns, you are doing it wrong.

www.comicbookresources.com/?pa… Look at Superman. /facepalm . Thankfully I decided long ago not to read any new DC material until these 2 guys are gone.

And the countdown to a mega event where the "classic version" of the DC heroes return (after this thing backfires) starts now!

Here I am again, six months after the last entry. That's terrible. I guess I have nothing to say. Hehehe.

But this time I have! Seriously!

Do you like webcomics? Well, if you do, I wholeheartedly recommend you go check out an awesome webcomic by my very good friend Neal Bailey (writer), with art by fellow DA artist :icondexterwee: . The comic is called Cura Te Ipsum (link). It's gotten great reviews. You gotta check it out. It's "only" at page 77 (it updates 3 times a week), so it's easy to catch up and get up to date in a breeze. What's it about? It's a sci-fi murder mystery. It's PG-13, a little gory, not much, and language is clean. If you enjoy stuff like Lost, Dark Tower, Jumper, then you will certainly will get a kick out of it. I'm not involved in it, in any way, shape or form, just another fan. Go read it, and share your thoughts with me later if you feel like it :)

I've made quite a few of recent additions to my gallery but nothing new from "DC Universe" series. Please be patient, I'm working on the next one. It's a sequel, or maybe a prequel (?), to one of the existing volumes.

As always, a big thank you to everyone that keeps me on their watch list, and to all those that have added me during this past few months. As always, all comments are welcome, I love the feedback and I try my best to reply every single one of them. If I've missed some I apologize.

If you are wondering why of my mood, well, there are a number of things that obsess me: Ghostbusters, Superman, The X-Files, Pixar, but also my sports teams.... and they both suck! Just watch my favorite NBA basketball team get kicked out of the playoffs, and the sad thing is that I totally predicted this outcome since December. grrr

Being a fan (of anything, not just sports) is a pain.

Hello,

I haven't updated my gallery in a while, because of the amount of work recently.

Thing is that someone in one of the largest advertising agencies here in Venezuela liked the work I had done for the magazine for kids (Meridianito) and called to know if I was available for a project they were working on. I said "sure why not", so for a while I've been dealing with almost twice the workload: I still work for Meridianito, but I'm also freelancing for the ad agency.

Basically they asked me to "toon-ify" (a new verb?) an actor they are using for a series of tv commercials, so they can use these cartoony versions of the character in some printed material, like magazine ads, billboards, stickers, you know, the usual.

I had to accept because I think this should be the project with more visibility I've done, and there's also the chance they will call me again in the future to do more stuff for them (not necesarily related to the same ad campaign).

By now, this project is in it's final stages, and I should be done with it by next week, but I can't show anything yet... I also haven't posted anything recent from Meridianito, cause most of what I've done for them in the last couple of months has been uninspired, I guess a little exhaustion/bore/burn-out has creeped in, so I got to shake it off.

Other than that, I had fallen behind in thanking people for their faving and watching, but now that's been taken care of. Now I have my "watch messages" full of awesome art I need to fav soon! Oh, I've notice that I'm slowly creeping to 5,000 pageviews, it might not be much of a milestone for many, but for me it is! I'll try to pull off something cool for the occasion!

Again, thank you all for watching, here's hoping I have something to update my gallery with soon enough.

Hello,

First of all I want to thank everyone that has been faving my work, and that added me to their watch list. It's really awesome to know people like what I do.

Second of all, it's been a long while since I uploaded a new DCU lineup (but not quite as long as it's been since I wrote a journal entry, I just don't want to bore people with uninteresting rambles). Allow me to say that I still plan to keep doing those, in fact I have a list with other 8 potential "volumes" I'd like to do in that style. Just as a teaser, the next one I want to do is a lineup of the "Green Lantern Corps", but also other called "The Occult", "JSA Founding Members" and "Fourth World". How soon will you see those? I don't know.

There are reasons for it: work has been crazy lately, and also some real life issues just came, nothing bad, but it eats up a lot of my time. This means I've had to put some of the "fun stuff" like the DCU lineups and some of my personal projects on hold for the moment.

In the meantime I'll be posting work related stuff, it's not quite as cool, but I'll have to deal with it.

Again, Thanks for your time!
Alessandro

Hi!

With my first journal entry, I'd just like to thank everyone that has stopped by and :+fav:'ed one of my pieces, or added me to their watchlist, or left a positive message behind.

I've had this DA account for the longest time, and it's only now that I'm starting to be a bit more active in this place, mostly due to the fact that I had totally forgotten about it! Anyways, in the future I hope to keep uploading more of my fanart to the stuff I love (like the DC lineups that have been a small hit :)! ), but I'm also looking foward to posting original stuff, either from work (when possible) or from my own ideas.

Again, thanks everyone, and feel free to leave a comment on my stuff!
