while i can't deny that shooting water at a lovely model and capturing the patterns around her with a high speed shutter speed can look cool, i have to admit it doesn't do anything for me. i'm sure there is a lot more work going on behind the shot than how i overly simplified it, but to me i can't really connect with what the photographer is trying to show how they envisioned this.
one thing that really seems to take a lot of emotion out of the shot is the solid black background. i think if there were some colour (swirl, tie dye,.. something not just one solid colour) it would bring this and the other shots of this style more to life.
as for the lighting, it seems to be aimed at her left arm while her face with the bold makeup and hair styling can't easily be made out. so a little more light (more output or add another stand) and angled higher up or a larger light defused more evenly across her would work wonders here.
finally, i don't know if the water was cold, but the model looks a little upset in her facial expression.

i hope this critique gives you future ideas and i wish you the best. i look forward to your future uploads.

Hehe, rather than just it being a naked model getting splashed, the effect or vision the photographer had (I think, anyways) was to create wings for her simply using water. Mot just to capture whatever image came out.
Hence the "Angel" in the title; angel wings, or even angelic beauty created through simplicity. I think it's very creative and cool :)
In that sense, the image is quite successful. Although I do agree with most of the technical elements you mentioned about lighting and such.

thank you for the feedback.
i did get the photographer was going for wings with the water. just, most images photographers take try to depict an idea, feeling, tell a story, or highlight certain (or all) features of the model and i felt like this shot was lacking to fall in any of those areas.
still, i give it to the photographer for trying.

I love the way that under the sheet of water the light makes lovely patterns on her body...

This is outstanding - I love the way the water is wrapped around her body ... did it take many tries to get this right? It's incredible.

Oh wow, this is breathtaking!
The shape you were able to capture the fluid in looked like glass in the thumbnail.
...absolutely breathtaking.
I love the lines of shadow down her body.

She's very beautiful!

What I especially like here is the blue tones contrasting with the warm skin tones - especially when the blue shines through to water to her skin.

You're indeed progressing as an artist, while already being on a level most of us can just imagine reaching.
