OUR TALE BEGINS ON A STRANGE, FAR AWAY PLANET WHERE CORPORATIONS HAVE HUMAN RIGHTS AND WRITE WHATEVER LAWS PLEASE THEM.
NOPE, ACTUALLY... IT'S HERE AND NOW.

A LITTLE CONFUSED?
SOPA
NDAA

I hope you too realize the incredible amount of dumb kids that ignores copyright infringement and hosts unlicensed images on this website.
If passed, SOPA can SHUT DOWN DEVIANTART DOMAIN with a single takedown notice for infringing a single image.

PEOPLE OF DEVIANTART, HELP STOP SOPA BEFORE DEVIANTART IS BLOCKED:
1)FAVOURITE THIS, SPREAD THE WORD.
(with just 10'000 favs we have potential to reach a million viewers)
2)MAKE YOUR OWN CORPOROTOPIA COMIC AND #OCCUPY DEVIANTART FRONTPAGE!

WE AS ARTISTS HAVE POWER TO ACT AS INDEPENDENT MEDIA AND RESPONSIBILITY TO DO WHAT'S RIGHT BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.

That is so true. There are plenty of politicians internationally that are like that.

Hello everyone viewing anti NDAA art. An important recent petition just started against NDAA's SEC1021 in the Hedges VS Obama calling upon the higher federal courts to rule this provision UNCONSTITUTIONAL!! Please show your support, sign it and spread the word around about this important petition.

Contains something on NDAA that might be worth reading. Dunno, use your own judgement :-p.

I hate the fact that members of our government feel the need to control what we read, write, draw, and post. It disgusts me! Obviously, whoever drafted SOPA has had no thought as to the impacts of the act in the art community. My fellow Deviants....let's teach em not to fuck with us...

Yeah SOPA
thats the worst thing ever.
Its not like the NDAA is going to give the government the right to murder your children if they say they hate Obama

Governments = Mafia

Big secret people, you never heard of taking control, and hiding their marks making it seem as if nothing have ever happened. Everyone wants power, I sometimes feel worry one day we might become the next China.

Is it just me, or does it feel like all the politicians forgot a very important amendment when they were writing this act?

1: Which? There are two in question here.

2: Whichever it is, no, it's not just you.

3: There is no point 3.

Don't forget the Protect IP Act, the Senate version.

Yeah. I just recently determined that my congressman, presently, can do jack-diddly about SOPA, because he's not part of the judiciary committee (which was actually a pleasant realization, since it reminded me just how long this thing has to go before it's actually passed into law. GOD BLESS A SYSTEM BASED ON CHECKS AND BALANCES). If it gets past this part of the process, then I'll need to contact him about it, but...

PIPA, on the other hand, has already made it through its judiciary committee, and as such it's EVERY SENATOR'S concern now.

As such, as soon as I drag myself off this computer and onto the computer connected to a printer I know works (as a printer. I've got a lovely scanner in here, but... somehow I don't think my senator is interested in being e-mailed a pretty picture about this :-p), I'm gonna write my senator a letter (I already contacted her online about it, though <3.)

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one writing letters to my senators...i wrote both of mine the other day. online, but i might steal your idea and go snail mail as well....

the whole thing is blowing up on reddit, there are tons of great articles about both SOPA and PIPA.

I would like to personally thank people like you and Divides who are taking action in America, I hope people will do the same here in Australia when our goverment jumps on the band wagon again.

Keep up the fight :)

awwh man, you make me blush.
i figure it really is our duty as citizens (no matter where we are) to speak up and tell the government off once in awhile.

keep up the fight, indeed!

So, I know there's a "Veto SOPA" petition (even though SOPA hasn't technically passed congress yet)... is there a similar petition for PIPA?

I'd kinda hate for us to defeat SOPA only to have most of the same issues created by its (already further along) senate based brother XD.
