Gotta get this comic ready for the printer’s. Five whole chapters of gratuitous violence and literary criticism. Just how I like it.

Disappointed with the cover, but it's good to have it done. I wanted it to have a sort of Bantam/Penguin/cheap paperback classic sort of look to it, and I feel like I accomplished that, at least.

Also the text on Henry and Edward's silhouettes is from Stevenson's actual manuscripts. Because SOMETHING here has to conform to canon, damnit.

See the high-res cover image here.

Read the whole comic for free here.

Or buy the GN here.

How 'bout you EAT those pages, Susan?

But really, good design. :D Anna might be a bit too low on the page for it to look entirely great, but that's a detail.

HOM NOM NOM.

Thanks, and especially for not being too scared to give a little crit! The whole layout bothers me; I wish I'd been able to structure it better. The left side is too heavy; I don't think the pile of papers adds enough weight to the right side. And all that empty space in the middle needs something, but I couldn't figure out what. D:

You're welcome!
The empty space is okay, no worries. It emphasizes the characters. :meow:

Maybe the left would look better if Anna & Susan were switched around, as the smoke (from the potion) adds to that side too.

Hmmm, that's a good idea, compositionally. Henry still needs to be behind Anna, but perhaps I could've used the smoke better.

I like it!  I am especially fond of how you made the S in Sire into a bookmark.

Thank you very much! Chelsea helped me out with that when designing the fancy logo.

I picked Sire as a title back when it was just a short comic for class. I never stopped to check if the title would infer anything to a broader audience, and so I forgot the fact that a Sire is also the term for a vampire who creates another vampire. So if I don't toss books all over the place, people tend to assume that it's a vampire story. :D

Bah.  Never judge a book by its title.  This is so much better than a vampire book.

Vampire stories can be good too. ^_^ I just don't want people to expect something they won't get.
