Locklear fought the war between Earth and Liberty, which humans were the first to colonize. Independence always has been a reason to go to war for. When Colonel Locklear was built, with the DNA of who he known as his Native Americans parents, he became the first and only Type 4 Android.

Hi, everyone! So the WORLD BUILDING WORKSHOP starts tomorrow at 9:00pm Eastern Time. It will be recorded and shown on Facebook. It will be LIVE so I will take questions and answer everything. The best way for me to make sure the course is personalized for everyone is to have your emails. Also, if you would like to join, it is FREE for DeviantArt people and there is 1 place available.

The class will consist of a little introduction about myself (why am I good to teach world building) and then, I will do an overview of the entire course and what you will gain at the end: the entire knowledge of how to build a world and how to make it your own. It doesn't matter if it's for an original story | comic book | video game | LARP | fan fiction | etc... world building is the foundation of a good story.

You guys fill just a bit more than half the class, two others will join from Facebook! If there is someone else that I have missed, please contact me. All of you should send me an email to this address: alexandrawayneauthor@gmail.com so I can send you an email with a planning of the workshop and the secret group where we can share and encourage each other throughout the workshop. :)

The Abducted Magazine - Excerpt

Mon Jul 9, 2018, 7:33 PM

My passion for science-fiction started at a young age. When I was brought to the theatres to watch the anniversary of Star Wars back in 1997. Now, friends call me, “The Expert” and reach out to me because I’m the sci-fi girl.

Directive 4

Growing up as a girl, I didn’t have many live-action female role model. So, Princess Leia quickly became a favorite of mine. It was due to the fact that she was not the typical “princess in distress.”

Later on, my grandfather introduced me to the cyberpunk universe of the iconic RoboCop. The voice, the view of a not so distant disturbed future. it all captivated me from the beginning.

Quickly, that movie became one of my favorites. My obsession with the cybernetic character was strong. Deprived of his own personal identity. Simply following a horrifying end. Obliged to obey the will of those who only wish to take over a city (if not the entire world).

Its entire population reprogramming him at will. Not even thinking about the human flesh, raw, organic, soul part of Murphy, somehow deeply spoke to me.

Get Away From Her, You Bitch!

As the years went on, my sci-fi taste grew along with me. Then I went to the theatres with friends to watch Alien Resurrection. Hooray! A strong, charismatic, smart, sexy and hero: Ripley.

I immediately looked up to her. I wished there were more roles as such that would show women in a strong role. Women capable of leading the story. After all, the Alien franchise did it. It was a horror science-fiction story filled with action leaded by Ripley.

Not many of my friends growing up didn’t Alien. They didn’t understand why I was so fascinated by it. Yet, I couldn’t get enough. Because someone actually thought about such an alien monster. Again, seen as strange, I thought the alien was simply misunderstood. Still terrifying, but maybe afraid just as the crew were.

Dial The Gate

I might have watched the movie Stargate. My mother being aware of my immense obsession with Ancient Egypt. She thought I would love the movie and so I did. However, it stayed like that for a while. Stuck with Ripley as a female hero to look up to.

Then, my husband had me discover Stargate SG-1 the series. Captain Samantha Carter inspired me and gave me hope that women could be heroes again. Yet, my satisfaction for science-fiction did not stop there. More was in store for me.

That Ship Is Alive

One night, I had the chance to watch the incredible movie. One that most science-fiction fans refuse to acknowledge as awesome. It is called, Event HorizonA movie that came out in 1997. It instantly captured my attention a starship FTL based on black holes. It had me entirely captivated. I loved the mystery and the backstory.

Right away, I wanted to know everything. I read all there was about the subject of black holes. I might not have been impressive in mathematics in school. However, in science I knew what I was doing. Strangely, I viewed it more as an art than a chore. It inspired the science-fiction freak inside of my head. I was hungry for more.

Measure Of A Man

It was only years later. Only when I settled down with an “android” of my own, that I discovered the Roddenberry universe of Star Trek. When watching the original series I was impressed. But The Next Generation was the one who spoke to me.

The reason was simple and touched me again. The idea of a being who could be deprived of its rights just because of its synthetic body caught my attention. I had to see the entire series and understand what could be out there.

It is needless to say, for those accustomed with the series, that Mr. Data was the one I talked about the most and the one that mostly inspired my science-fiction work.

Star Trek The Next Generation - Mr Data by AlexaWayne

Ancient Visitors, Maybe?

Science-fiction have many worlds. From many civilizations dating back to Ancient Egypt, Sumerians among others. That’s where you discover either stories or images that suggest something out-worldly happened in the past.

Maybe we are either blind to it. Or unaware of it or maybe, it is simply hidden from us. Not to start any conspiracy theory here, but maybe the truth is truly out there somewhere.

While many science-fiction novels, series, movies and more seem to always end up in a post-apocalyptic scenario. You know, machines winning over mankind, inspired by the words of Asimov.

I truly believe that Star Trek presents it right. They balance the idea of cybernetics/ androids/ robots among others of their kinds. They show them capable of both kindness and greed.

It has me wondering if we have once been visited or still are today. Because when we stop and look at the stars, all we can see is what our eyes permits us to see. However, when you let your imagination loose, you know that each of those stars represent a blink in our existence.

In the millions of years that our universe was created. Let’s not forget that fiction is not as fictional as we thought. Science isn’t as far from imagination when you really think about it.

Gather All Authors Website Project

Sun Jul 8, 2018, 6:13 PM
Hello!

My author friends and I have come with the idea of creating a website that would gather authors of all kinds: published, un-published, poets and fan fiction writers, including bloggers | writers.

The idea would be to have that one website that would share all works from various authors that would join the website itself to use it as a "reblog" platform. If you are like me, subscribing to all newsletters from authors or blogs I like can actually almost come out as "spam" to a degree when you are submerged by it.

For that reason, this website would gather all kinds of authors as I've mentioned above about their latest news, offers, promotions, advertisements and self-promotions and events.

If you are interested, please note me and I'll add you to the list of those who would like to join!

In the meantime, please go take a look at my novels available on Amazon: Mrs. Blackwood & Mermaid Island!

TOP 25 SEXIEST DC COMICS MALES

Fri Jul 6, 2018, 12:21 PM
Hi everyone! I'll be working on a Top 25 Sexiest DC Comics Males for DC Comics News! W00T!!! I am freaking out!!! I couldn't be happier that they have approved my idea to write it! It will be very, um, special to say the least and of course it will be a personal list of mine and not according to ratings or anything else than my own point of view as I have read many comic books in the past few years. From the 80's to this day. So, you'll know a little dark part of my personality! Lol!

All day I will be reading and writing this article so it will be published. So, stay tuned for the big reveal I will make on my websites and social media and here, of course. Haha!

It will be a least a little controversial, because I have even included villains in it and a little "mature" content. However, I am someone who is very classy and polite when it comes to deal with more "taboo" subjects. It will still be readable for those who aren't too comfortable for the subject.

In the meantime, you can go read my articles on Dark Knight News:

Drawing Workshop - Easy OCD

Thu Jul 5, 2018, 1:25 PM

SOMETIMES WE NEED A LITTLE HELP WHEN WE ARE THINKING ABOUT OUR OWN IDEA. WHEN IMAGINATION IS LET LOOSE, IT CAN BE OVERWHELMING. SO, WHERE DO WE EVEN BEGIN? WELL, AFTER YEARS OF DRAWING CLASSES AND OBSERVATION AND OBSESSION OVER CHARACTERS AND DIFFERENT MEDIAS, I BELIEVE I KNOW WHERE TO START TO HELP PEOPLE AT THEIR ART.

I can help achieve desires to find it easier to draw. I can coach people in drawing and help them with little tricks and rules of thumb that make drawing way easier than it sometimes look. There are easy steps that I find very helpful and I will show them all during the course of the Workshop.

After over twenty years of drawing (I know, that doesn't make me younger! Haha!) I believe I have learned quite a few detour to make certain style look great. During those courses I will share my screen and show you live, what it looks like to draw basics, pencilling, inks and rendering.

It does not matter the style that you prefer: Comic Book | Disney | DreamWorks | Traditional | Realistic | Cartoon.

My Drawing Workshop - Easy & OCD is divided in eight (8) classes of an hour (60 minutes) each, but I don’t calculate the little extras when questions pop-ups at the end of the class. 😉

Each class has a specific subject that needs to be covered and will be divided as such...

1st Class: The Rules of Thumb.
2nd Class: The Head.
3rd Class: The Body - Male & Female.
4th Class: Choose Your Character (it doesn't matter which one it is.)
5th Class: Dynamic Poses.
6th Class: Inking | Tricks | Cheats.
7th Class: Easy professional looking backgrounds.
8th Class: The Summary + Individual Critique. :)

Over the eight (8) week workshop I will help each participant in understanding the fundamentals through the style you prefer and what you want to achieve. Through emails, I will answer all of your questions individually and help prepare you on your journey to become a wonderful artist or finish the project you started.

I will be available to you throughout the whole workshop regardless of your time zone. 🙂

However, if you prefer to contact me only once, you can do so by reaching out to me. Why can I be a good coach in drawing? Read below. 😀

SUPERHEROES & MONSTERS

ALWAYS LEARNING

My mother was my first influential artist in my life. She studied art and was a great drawer and painter. I was first introduced to the art by watching Walt Disney movies back in the late 80's and 90's. I was in advanced art classes and won a few drawing contests as well.

Through the age of 3 to 17 I took classical ballet, theatrical and cinema acting, drawing and singing courses. I have learned the fundamentals and the requirements of many artistic fields that helps one develop imagination, discipline and autonomy.

I then decided to turn to graphic & web design and earned a diploma in the field. Then, as my passion for art rose, I took a 2D Animation course at Studio Technique with Samantha Youssef who worked for Walt Disney. Then, I took one semester in 3D Animation at Montmorency College

After those courses done, I realized I preferred sequential art and took the Pixar Master Class where I learned more about Storyboard and 3D Animation. My satisfaction wasn't met yet and so I  turned to Comics Experience where I took 3 courses: Inking & Rendering | Drawing Anatomy | The Art of Comic Book, all courses with Robert Atkins.

To learn more about Sequential Art, I went to Salette College for a complete semester and then switched to Syn Studio to learn more about the digital aspect with courses such as: Character Rendering | Skills Reboot | Comic Book Art | Digital Paint | Storytelling & Design.

Now I am a professional illustrator and author. I also am a professional graphic & web designer. And I thought it would be interesting to share a little of what I know with others who could think I might bring a little something to there drawings. :)

PROGRAMS: Adobe Photoshop | Adobe Illustrator | Clip Studio Paint | Blender | Autodesk Maya | Motion Builder.

SKILLS: Traditional Drawing, Pencilling, Inking, Digital Coloring, Digital Painting.

Hi everyone! So, I was interviewed on Gothic Bite Magazine for my Mrs. Blackwood novel available on Amazon in both eBook and Paperback format. It is a very wonderful emotion to be interviewed by your own team who wants to promote your work. Of course I am using my own magazine to promote the novel, and of course the sister website, Vampire Expert as well, however, it is a humbling feeling when you know you're being so much loved by your own work family.

So, if you want to know a little more about me and my novel. Or, if you want to know more about the thought process of an OCD Vampire (I do have OCD) then here is your chance! You can go and read the interview and leave a comment and maybe even follow Gothic Bite Magazine and Vampire Expert!

Dark Knight News - 2 First Articles!

Wed Jun 27, 2018, 1:08 PM
Hello everyone! Following the first Journal I made about being part of the Dark Knight News website, here are the links to the 2 first articles I wrote for them. I have the Wednesday afternoon spot and I am very happy to be part of such a wonderful team. I write for other blogs, have my own webzine (Gothic Bite Magazine) and now that I write for this one, I believe this is an amazing opportunity for me.

I have always loved Batman, but never thought I'd be writing for a website dedicated to it that has affiliations with DC Comics. I guess hard work and determination pays off from time to time. Haha. I hope you'll enjoy my first two articles!

I stumbled upon the website DC Comics News on Google a few days ago and saw the professionalism of the website and the amazing graphic design (I cannot help myself as a designer) and then noticed they had a sister site, The Dark Knight News. I went on to see it and fell in love with it. Then, returning to the website, I saw they were hiring.

I've been writing for years, but it's only been two years that I'm a professional blogger and now full-time author. So, I took a shot, telling myself "Hey, the worst that can happen is they don't answer meaning I wasn't chosen." But last night, around 10:00pm I hear my Messenger notification and it's the owner of the website. He asked for samples of my work and thankfully, because of my work at The Geek Initiative and my experience running Gothic Bite Magazine and Vampire Expert, today he announced that I was chosen as an official writer on probation for a few weeks.

I might be on probation right now for the website, but you can believe I will give it my all because a chance like this is given once in a lifetime and I am going to take advantage of it! I am so thankful for this opportunity. So thankful. The team is great, all very welcoming and friendly. We're two girls and both of us from Canada. Haha

I will keep you posted on how it goes!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

SCIENCE FICTION & PARANORMAL

RESEARCH IS DONE

As an author with a side of OCD, I know personally how frustrating and time consuming research can be. Sometimes we spend hours of research online and, the library even trying to find exactly what we are looking for. Ye, in our head the question is so simple and clear.

I wished, back when I was writing my first sci-fi series, that I could have just asked someone to answer a few of my questions. Maybe just to fill in the blanks for me. Some details that I was missing to make my story standout from the infinite pool of cyborg and androids novels was so clear! But, I couldn’t find the information as easily as I thought.

Well, after years and hours of online research, television watching and reading through an incredible (almost embarrassing) amount of encyclopedia and novels! I have found myself to be very knowledgeable about the subject. Science-fiction that is. And so, if you find yourself interesting in having a consultation with me. It could be about androids, cyborgs, aliens, hybrids or futuristic world building to either began a science-fiction world for a novel, series, gaming, visual media including shows and/or movies and video games. I am available for anything you are looking for regarding science-fiction and/or romance, their worlds, legends and folklore.

DC Comics Superheroes Commissions

Thu Jun 21, 2018, 10:56 AM
I have spent a lot of time drawing superheroes in the last decade, especially those of DC Comics. I was and still am known for my obsession with Batman. And despite being married, I'm not ashamed to say that he is still the love of my life. Haha (my husband's at peace with it). Because of recent events, I'll be jumping back into it head first with the help of many commissions I have in a row of superheroes. Some that I've drawn before and others that I haven't yet. Mostly DC Comics as I'm not as familiar with Marvel Comics.

I once wrote a Top 10 DC Comics Female Superheroes for The Geek Initiative and soon, will be a Top 25 Sexy DC Comics Character list from me as well. And I can't wait for you to read it!

I was supposed to take a break and made a journal about it not too long ago as not all those who commission me are Watchers of mine, but I've decided not to. So, I will be easily reachable to all. I closed my commissioned on DeviantArt for the time being to get ahead, but you can still reach me easily and I'll put you on a waiting list if you wish to have a commission from me.

I will admit that I am a little behind due to novel publishing. I'm excited to say that 2 other novels are coming, one on Tuesday, July 10th and the other on Tuesday, August 14th. One pirate adventure, #1 of a series named, Mermaid Island and the other superhero, again #1 of a series named, Owl City!

Hello everyone!

Since I have published my novel on June 13th, I have become a full time writer and I am so pleased to announce that my second novel is planned to come out on the 10th of July. It will be the first of a series of pirate adventures! Two other novels are already done and prepared for November (the holidays) and two are in the writing as we speak!

But, I'm not quitting on Gothic Bite Magazine and we are still providing our readers with awesome articles and still have our monster of the month! June = The Blob! So come by and check us out!

Thank you everyone! You're all awesome while I'm recovering from my wrist and fingers injury. :)

Hello everyone!

I am so happy to let you all know that my first novel, a short paranormal adventure novel, is available for pre-order on Amazon at the price of $2.99 USD. And also, I will be a guest on Paranormal Talk, hosted by The Geek Initiative's CEO, Tara M. Clapper who is also launching her Digital LARP - First Bite, a Vampire LARP.

It will be a live stream on Facebook, at 8:00pm Eastern Time!
In the meantime, maybe you can drop by my Amazon author page: www.amazon.com/A.-Wayne/e/B07D…

Hello everyone!

My first novel is soon to be out. My editor and I are doing a criss-crossing of promotion and marketing together as she also manages Digital LARP and it fits the theme of my first novel: Vampires.

It is a lot of work for me. Endless hours of work! Because despite publishing my novel, all the technicalities are driving me insane: ISBN numbers, Barcodes, etc... it's heavy on the shoulders as it is a first experience for me to do so. I have spend many hours preparing for it, but once you've done it once, theoretically it should be easier with the others.

In the meantime, pass by Gothic Bite Magazine and read a few of our paranormal articles!
