Beautiful capture. Highlights and shadows are full of dimension and not blown out. the image is not muddled with grays and composed very well. the dark snow on the mountain in front draws the eye into the center. Once there, the eye can follow the wispy fog through out the rest of the picture. Every time I look at this I can't help but find it more and more intriguing! Great job on this piece. It really came out amazing. The smooth gradient on the side of the mountain is pure perfection. The way you can still see what is in the shadows shows enough contrast without pure darkness. The slight highlight on the mountain in the background is quite amazing.

It is an incredible landscape with a very strong contrast that makes the mountains stand out, but still do not take up most of the attention of the viewer, as the clouds give the imagine light and gives the image an illusion of smoothness. The dark mountains and the bright fog also makes the colours mix into light shades of grey and 'melt' with the background. The attention of the viewer does not go to the centre as it usually does, but it keep its' focus on the first mountain and then diverts to the fog and then the last mountain. I could go on and on, but just to summarize, it is an extraordinary landscape.

When done right, black and white photos can look amazing, more than usual, and here is a photo with what a feel has a nice transition from black to gray to white, I nice gradient look!

And the contrast of the colors really make the mountains stand out from the fog, but not too much where the fog is completely overwhelmed by the landscape, also the sane can be said with the fog not completely taking away from the beautiful view of the mountain tops!

You know, on the thumbnail it looks like it's a picture of a waterfall among rocks. Then you open it and you see it's really clouds among mountain peaks and a thousand times more epic than you thought at first :meow:

Et le titre et l'image me rappellent fortement les scènes du domaine des morts de l'Himalaya dans le poème épique Manas par Alfred Döblin (un chef-d'œuvre de l'expressionnisme allemand).
