Haha, I think that's actually unintentional!  The Southern Cross constellation over the head over the dinosaur isn't though.  Although, as someone pointed out below, it would've looked different at the time.

It's an excellent painting. There's two anatomical issues you should watch out for; the right knee is hyper-extended impossibly (theropods cannot straighten their knees out like you and I can) and the left hand is turned at an impossible angle (theropod hands face palms-inward pretty much permanently).

Thanks! I'll definitely pay closer attention to the anatomy in my future work, those comments are really helpful!

I really like this; one doesn't come across night-time depictions of saurians very often....

Great!

Staurikosaurus means "Lizard of the Southern Cross" or something like that but constellations did not look the same million years ago, you still depicted the stars very well (some of them are red, most people wouldn't care about that), i guess it's a reference to its name.

And the moon, i have read that the moon was closer to Earth so it has to have looked bigger but i couldn't tell you how much bigger.

Beautiful nocturnal sky, and good work with the details on the face.

Ha that's interesting. I suppose it's obvious that the stars would be different but it didn't occur to me...interesting about the moon as well.

The dinos face looks amazing, but I think the ground needs to look more solid if you know what I mean. But great night shot all together!

It's a lot darker in real life, more of a sillohouette (the photo made it a lot brighter), but I do know what you mean. Thanks.

He's kind of floaty... like the colours though.

Thanks...I agree, I traced the dino from a sketch I did, but didn't pay enough attention to the ground. oh well.
