Bactrosaurus johnsoni by Alexanderlovegrove Bactrosaurus johnsoni by Alexanderlovegrove
Acrylic on paper (A4), 2010. My first painting in about a year, been very busy doing my masters degree! Bit of an experiment, this one...and not a theropod in sight!

Not a dinosaur that I'm familiar with, but a wonderful painting all the same.

How large would you say the animal in this painting be? I know you've included plants, but that isn't much for comparison.

Yeah there's not too much detail in this piece! About 6m long...2m high at the hip.

Great to see you're back, and looks like you've back with more "sophisticated" painting style. :)

Not that there was anything wrong in your previous works, but we all progress... :D

Haha, thanks :D I know exactly what you mean! I'm aiming for a more realistic style eventually, I might have to move over to oils at some point too.

Sounds interesting. I myself am keen to go back to oil painting, but that always requires a good working space. Painting with them in my apartment would be bad idea. Maybe I should build a art studio in the storage room?

That sounds like a good plan! I usually paint in my kitchen, I hadn't really thought of the space I need for oils...would love to have a proper studio though!

Amazing way to return to DA! Great painting! I really like the warm colors used here, especially for the sky and clouds. :)

Thanks! I'm trying to improve my colour and lighting in general, so there might be some more experiments soon!

Well, I think your older works are very good in regards of colour and lighting. Anyway, it's always good to improve and take your skills on another level. I'm looking forward to see your experiments. I'm sure they would be great. :)
