In this dialogue filled multi-part season premier of DD C Team: Clouds descended upon the sprawling city of Neverwinter, bringing with them a torrent of wind and rain. The sky was set ablaze by white hot streaks of lightning; thunder rattled the decrepit buildings in the squalor abound neighborhood. Shoddily constructed roofs were assaulted by the ceaseless onslaught of the downpour, planks creaking and swelling in their futile attempts to hold back the unending pellets of water. Despite the grandiose reputation of the “great” city of Neverwinter, many of its districts had fallen to the waysides. The shining ivory towers which attracted travelers from all over the Sword Coast cast deep shadows upon the rest of the urban sprawl, from which sprung all manner of poverty and depravity. There, in one such district, long forsaken by the city’s governors and guards alike, sat a lowly, insignificant tavern. Preface: This is one of a series of recaps for a DnD campaign I did with some buddies. It started 3 years ago before getting put on an indefinite hiatus, only to be revived and finally completed this year. Originally starting off as a side, throw away campaign some of us could play when the whole group wasn’t available for the main story, the player characters were set up without any real backstory. The first quest was run under another DM. The first 3 “recaps” were written later after the campaign was completed to document/retcon how the party originally came together. These recaps were never originally intended to be read by anyone but those in the campaign. As such, they are riddled with inside jokes and references to the other “main” campaign that won’t make any sense out of context. What follows is an attempt to generate a somewhat cohesive narrative out of a campaign played by a bunch of people who had no idea what they were doing, myself included. Beware of run-on sentences
