Annnndd a page for DA. Life is finally starting to slow down for me. Had a crazy upset at the beginning of my teacher year that would take way too much time to explain; but I've been running like a chicken with its head cut off for the past 2 weeks and it's finally returning to normal-ish

Lionesses to the rescue!!

I'm wondering if you might be able to set a date for when the next one will come so you know when news has arrived ??

Raven mostly uploads pages whenever she feels like it.

okay but now it was also a proposal for her 😊

gonna wonder what leads zira to become a loyal zealot of Scars after all of this, or if this is an alternate universe where things started and end differently either way great work with these new pages

Definitely not an alternate universe, Zira will get to that point of insanity we see in the film, but mental changes take time, Scar wasn't always 'Scar' as we know, she's probably about to lose her mind any moment now, pushing the lionesses aside and defending her abusive parent and of course neglecting Nuka when he's born. ;P

It's so nice, isn't it? how they're trying to protect poor Zira from that psycho. But, I hope it doesn't turn into a worse situation because they're rebelling against Scar...

Yes, I'm glad Raven gives the lionesses more action or more 'screen time' than what the movies made them do: Be boring and stand in the background untill a war breaks out. The movies portrayed them as boring, not giving a sh*t or too coward/terrified to stand up or something, except Sarabi. Don't really blame them tho, they were starving after all. Raven's work is amazing, but one thing that IS bothering me a bit is that Dahlia doesn't seem to care? Like yes it's clear something is DEFINITELY wrong. And it concerns her grand daughter, the only living part of her long lost daughter Naanda. She should've come with Uru and others as a concerned grandmother. Ik drawing all that could be unnecessary and a waste of time, but still. I understand Diku and Dwala not being much concerned, they have their own children and fear their life too much to question Scar. But Dahlia? She's too oblivious. I guess she really didn't get much time to bond with Zira. She was away in a cave most of the time in Eastlands, and after arriving at the PrideLands, she soon started to stick with Scar and became rude. So I guess this is why she isn't as concerned as Uru, Sarafina or Akina were?

I was thinking the same thing, I think the Pride will try to comfort Zira and distance her from Scar, and Dahlia will reach out towards her granddaughter but Zira will snap, and blame them for the situation, Scar realizes Akina had something to do with the situation and orders Zira to get rid of her, to prove her loyalty, labor hits Zira and she births a premature Nuka or something, whatever happens next isn't gonna be pretty. :faint:

To be fair, they should have created a movie about Scar and Mufasa's past and how the pridelands were during Scar's reign.

Disney actually said somewhere that they didn't want to show Scar's Reign in the film because it would have been akin to the holocaust.

leirela's avatar

Oh I didnt think about that

Well that's the interesting thing, huh? Zira in the film was nuts.. so it makes you curious how Akina, Sarafina and Uru's attempt to help backfired. ;P

If you look closer, you can see Uru's wrinkles near her eyes and that's the sign she is aging. Hopefully, she survives longer to see her great-grandson, Nuka. It's obvious that she is a lot younger than Ahadi. When they first met each other, he was an older teenager (human age:15-17) while she was a much younger cub (human age:4-5).

I noticed that too, and I think she will witness Nuka's birth. She may try to support him and help Zira take care of him in the absence of Endesha, and of course, that, ends up going horribly wrong. Nuka definitely was more influenced by Zira than the nicer lionesses in the Pride, and if there was anyone that tried to show Nuka genuine love and compassion, she probably got rid of them. :(

Thing's just keep on going downhill.

Maybe raising Nuka will give Zira a chance at happiness? Maybe...? XD

But even still, it doesn't excuse her treating her son like crap and is very much responsible for his death in the film, Sarafina was a single parent raising Nala and she didn't abuse her daughter, after all. It makes me wonder when Zira will become irredeemable just like Scar. XD

"A symphony of death oh my! that's my lullabyyy!" ... :shocked

I highly doubt that Zira will be happy with Nuka. When Nuka fails to outrank Mheetu, Zira takes her anger on Nuka and physically abuses him for not being capable to outrank her half brother. And she rejects him when Scar rejects him in a favor of Mheetu, potentially Kovu.

legendaryicebreaker's avatar

True, even this parenting opportunity will go wrong for Zira as we know.

Poor cub won't be able to outmatch Mheetu or Kovu in the competition for the throne, and I'm sure Zira will push her son to challenge her half brother, maybe Nuka will help his mother get rid of Mheetu thinking he'll get his mother's love? Like how Zira was brainwashed by Scar into thinking she'd get Scar's love by covering up Moyo's murder.

Brone-vik's avatar

Poor Uru. I imagine that it is very hard to see your own son become worse and worse.

Akina must be furious. Zira is her adopted little sister, and to see Scar ruin her is really terrible.

Maltashaastaka's avatar

I think Zira's more an adopted daughter to Akina. Akina was already an adopted sister of Naanda. But yes, she must feel terrible. Not only somebody who's like her daughter is getting abused, she also failed to do what Naanda, her closest and dearest adopted older sister, expected/trusted her to do. :(

And if Zira ends up pinning this on Akina, it'll probably break her heart. It only makes sense that after this, Zira will look at her as her enemy. She'll blame herself for leaving Scar's side and she'll blame Akina for nudging her to stop listening to Scar. What else would Zira be thinking? The situation has played perfectly for Scar to manipulate.
