Frutiger Aero and The Upcoming 3D Aesthetic

I originally created an Information icon for someone to use in their project. However, they decided to go with something else, which interestingly resembled what I had made.

After several days of not using the icon, I got the idea to create a comparison render between Frutiger Aero and the unnamed post-Flat Design 3D aesthetic.

The Information Icons you see here have undergone alterations after I spent time learning about Blender (dating back a few months before I became active on this website).

As a result, the Frutiger Aero icon is now illuminated by a single Area light source instead of two Point light sources, while the second icon obeys the rule of being lit by a Key Light, a Fill Light, and a Rim Light.

In case you haven't noticed yet, I made the text and its "background-color" follow the appearance of the two aesthetics. I knew I had to add some sort of background color to the text because the image has a transparent background, and I'm predicting reuploads of this image to places with white or mostly white backgrounds.

By the way, I'm planning teach myself something that will help me on future projects, and also take breaks until I come up with new ideas.

Tools Used:

• Blender (Modeling and Rendering)

• Paint.NET (Placing the text and Rendered assets for the final image)
