Dragon Turtle

On December 14th, 2025, a video surfaced online from a lake near Gainesville, Florida, that drew TAR's attention. In the recording, a pair of amateur divers descended into the lake to record an old sunken car, but they encountered a massive turtle and were scared back to the surface. Initially believing it to be a Carbonemys or Stupendemys, TAR investigated the documented encounter and ended up capturing a colossal snapping turtle measuring roughly 12 ft in length and over 1.5 tons in weight. Like the previously documented Megabasiliscus, it's believed this creature is from the future and has since been officially named Dracochelys paludis, though its common name is the Dragon Turtle.
