Well it is a good idea and a good portrait of course. That's where you are completely right.
But you can't give 5 stars for technique, seriously...
Capriciuos child...
Hehe, you are right :)

Interesting that I start defending myself without any reason. A pity that some artists have a different opinion on this.
Art always shows the view of the artist and that's fine :D

At first: Thank you so much for your critique. I really appreciate it and I'm happy about every little comment I can get. Let it be positive or negative (as long as it is well explained)
You did that and I'm more than happy that you like it :)

With the crane you was right by the way. The things were moving in the wind a little and I guess that's what makes them look like the crane was moving. It actually wasn't. Just the wind. :D

And well, the toning is what I changed a little. The sky wasn't that yellow like it is. But imo it's a legal thing to change colours. I just use the raw converting and nothing more. So finally you could do all these things with a photo on film, too :)
But obviously you like the outcome and that's the important thing anyways :)

Oh and the light... I don't remember where the sun was at this time, I'm sorry.

But again: Thank you so much for giving this critique. I'm so happy right now :)

Regards, Jochen

Every critique might help. I try to give some (not for a pay-account yet - in my opinion it is confusing anyway that you can only give a real critique to someone who pays for the account. Mostly they already are good in what they do)
But it's a big part of learning. You can only improve things when you know what to improve, there is no other way, so keep writing critiques :D The ones who really like to learn will always appreciate it!
My home is my castle
First of all thanks a lot for your critique. I really appreciate it! And I already improved some things you said and I could accept with ;)
Firstly: I changed/decreased the saturation of the plants, because it really distracted the viewer and made him keep looking on the "wrong" items. Secondly I slightly increased the grey of the sky, but not that much. In my opinion the hard contrast of the sky and the house is very important. I tried it the other way, but the result was not what I wanted to get.

And at least I'm happy you noticed that the title has a meaning, too. I guess a lot of people don't even look at the title that much, but I do and mostly I think a lot about the "right" title for a photo.

Again: Thanks so much for your critique, it's the only way someone can get better and I really want it :D
