Originally commissioned by Pequod Press in 2001, this is the 2nd book by John F. Carr, after 'Kalvan Kingmaker', about Pennsylvania Cop Kalvan Morrison, swept away by a UFO in 1964, to the alternate history world of 16th century America, but set in a medieval European timeline.

The Kalvan's Tarr-Hostigos stronghold is besieged, by the enemies-the House of Styphon. The ever present drone eye, of the Paratime Police, keep watch, on the upper right.
