This was a fanciful idea of incorporating various aspects, and work, of the late Sci-Fi author H. Beam Piper.
Piper is seated foreground right, cleaning an antique pistol (similar in pose to the "Time Crime" cover by artist Kelly Freas, in the shelf behind) . His 16th century armor recalls the "Kalvan Kingmaker" series (many covers are included in this gallery)
At left, two members of the Paratime Police, chat. One, is dressed for a Roman timeline, who will be sent back in time to keep the peace, and preserve the future from outside meddling...
Behind them, my painting of "Fireseed Wars" (in this gallery) hangs on the wall. "Great King's War", of King Kalvan's first trip back in time, sits on the table.
