Wooo it’s Inktober again and I’m already falling behind! This year I’m following Leandro Franci’s Inktober prompt list which comprises entirely of video game heroines. I’m not familiar with all of them since I’m pretty behind on which video games I’ve played in my life but those who I don’t know I’m going to attempt to replace with ones who I do. I’ve already done so with Ciri from The Witcher and Bonnie MacFarlane from Red Dead Redemption. I’m also not anticipating to complete Inktober before the end of the month but that’s okay. My life has gotten a lot crazier in the last year, but in the good kind of crazy, where a lot of positive changes have happened. So here’s to doing art when you can, striving for improvement and being happy with how far you’ve come! Might consider doing commissions soon if anyone cares enough to like my style.
Lore Posts
Onwards, to Wordpress!
I've decided to start a new Wordpress blog to post more in depth writings on the lore of my various worldbuilding projects from which I draw most of my pieces! I hope that these will help provide context for some of the descriptions that I include with every character, creature, or item that I draw.
The first post has been made which is a description of the world in which my primary and longest running worldbuilding project, The Black Relics, is set. It discusses the various continents, along with a brief overview of their climates, biomes, and peoples. Stay tuned, as more will be coming in the future!
I may start posting about my other worldbuilding projects as well, including Second Strike (post-nuclear apocalypse), Paradigm Shift (cyberpunk dystopia), Lightyear (far future sci-fi), and Ironbound (metal-inspired high fantasy), but for now the focus will be on The Black Relics.
The posts will be sporadic with no set schedule since they take a while to write
Keeping Up
I didn't really expect this to happen but over the course of the past month I've actually managed to really keep up with drawing on a consistent basis. I've missed a few days here and there but so far I've managed to draw almost every day and I'm genuinely impressed with myself. I've seem some real improvement in my own work too, especially in terms of trying to draw real people or existing characters. I think my sketches of Abby Anderson from The Last of Us Part II as well as Larry King are some of the best work I've ever done.
All that being said I think one thing I'd like to do is to start branching out into drawing fan art of characters from properties that I like without just copying an existing image or still from the show / movie / video game. It's something I've always wanted to be able to do but have been a bit apprehensive to delve into. I sort of attempted it with my sketch of Charlie from Hazbin Hotel but I could do so much better.
This will be one of my primary goals in
Another Year in the Can
Well another year has passed us by and what a shite year it was. Deadly pandemics, political turmoil, police brutality, eviction crises, the list goes on. But hey, sometimes you gotta look at the little things in life to help you cope with the critical failings of our governmental system.Personally I like to look back at the art I’ve made over the course of 2020 and while I’m
not happy with all of it I can still say I’ve improved a lot when compared to my work from 2019.. it’s nice to be able to compare and contrast with my older work and notice genuine improvement. Thanks to all of you who have been watching me over the years and who have ...
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year folks! I've decided I really want to push myself this year in terms of drawing. Last year I participated in Inktober for the first time but this year I want to go to the next level and try to draw something every single day of the year. 365 days of art. I don't know if I'll be able to do every single day but goddammit I'm gonna try anyways. Wish me luck.
