The aristocracy in the so-called Free Nation of Freydinia often employ women from the peasantry to positions of maids, nurses and other housekeeping professions. These maids are often attentive to the needs of noblewomen, and in some cases may become their confidant. The uniforms worn by these maids, in keeping with the licentious nature of the aristocracy during the modern era, are notoriously erotic in their design and have become somewhat emblematic of Freydinia’s reputation as a sexual paradise, especially following the ascension of the Marquis de Riel to the throne. In a sense their outfits have become synonymous with the culture of the Freyni people, much in the same way as the guillotine or the baguette.
