My Bio

My name is Joe Kurz, born in 1961, and I live near Munich, Germany. I work as a software testing engineer.
Arts and drawing were my favorite subjects at school time. At that time I wrote a couple of science fiction and fantasy short stories (but - to be honest - not too successfully). Many of my pictures are telling themes of those stories. Now I am working to build up a story-driven framework around my pictures ...
I began with computing, programming and computer generated graphics about 1986 as a student.
My first attempts
I did with good old Paintbrush, later I moved to Picture Publisher (which I still use for postwork). Four years ago I discovered PovRay as a 3D modelling and rendering tool. But those pictures were too static and without human or animal characters.
I had a "fractal period" as well,
thus I programmed my first fractal generators with Turbo Pascal. At that time I had to wait sometimes for hours to get my pics rendered. The same result now I get within a few seconds ...
Now I am an enthusiastic user of Poser (started in 2001) which offers fantastic possibilities to create
scenes populated with humans and animals as well. And - of course - I love playing with sweet princesses, evil sorcerers and high mages. Another
project I am playing with is creating erotic pictures using a variety of
lovely well endowed girls.
I started with simple 3D modelling around
2002. I am learning by doing, I am using some free programs like Amapi and Anim8or for my first simple architectonic and scifi models as shown in my freestuff area. Recently I bought Cinema4D, but found no time yet to play with it ...
My latest approach is the creation of 3D generated comics. Now - after all so many years - finally I am able to tell my stories (scifi and fantasy I invented during my school time) with colorful pics and use my internet gallery as a kind of showcase. I never ever thought that this would be possible and affordable one day ... Sometimes I feel like an art director who creates some kind of movie ...

New in my download area.A Poser-ready-pp2-file. The building loads in whole, the firebowls, the spire on the cupola plus the rear gate are parented to the building block and can be moved or removed. There are only 2 textures included, the rest is done with procedural Poser shaders. Developed and tested with Poser5. Should work with Poser6/7/8 as well, some tweaking of the material settings may be neccessary. Background pic not included.ZIP-Filesize: 1.7 MB Uploaded: 2009-09-20For downloads visit my site: http://www.joes3dfantasyworlds.com/down/arch01.htm
