I do traditional and digital art, film, music, and literature.
Skins are quite nifty. I could probably figure out how to code one of my own design, given an afternoon. Not that I have afternoons available.
FPMD is a way to expose the general deviantART community to the plusses of premium membership. It's a walking advertisement. There aren't many lasting plusses that carry over post FPMD though. Had I prior warning, I'd have probably tried to exploit it to the fullest. At first glance, it seems great. But it really makes me question why I'd need a PM anyway.
"NO ADS" - Adblock, so irrelevant to me.
"ADVANCED REPORTING AND STATISTICS" - for the overobsessed (not me) or the semi-professional (semi-, because most pros I'm aware of have their own websites) (not me in either case).
"MULTI- AND SCHEDULED-SUBMIT" - I don't use dA enough to really understand how useful these may or may not be. My other blog has both of these features anyway.
"JOURNAL SKINS" - nifty, but with many people using tumblr and all (not me) or having an external blog of some kind, it's more of a vanity/decor thing rather than a crucial feature. At least, to me.
"BROWSE MORE" - yeah, kinda nice, but I don't like the scrolling and 120 isn't super necessary. I don't really browse anyway, I just pull through +watch.
"PRINTS FOR LESS" - okay, having warning of this would have been nice. This is a real 1-day 10% off special, and I can't knock it. But for the average user, most webstores have these specials anyway from time to time. How much would you be paying them anyway for your prints? How many/often would you really buy prints?
Other benefits: Stash space goes away, cant' change username, critique is a souped-up comment style.
Don't get me wrong, dA is a nice place and people can and do make best use of PM. I'm just not one of them.
