First off. HAPPY CANADA 150 EVERYBODY!
That's right, my home and native land is officially 150 years old. Time to celebrate living in igloos, drinking bagged milk, being polite to everyone, putting maple syrup and Canadian bacon on everything, and saying "eh" at the end of every sentence which confusingly makes it sound like we're asking a question rather than just stating something. Stereotypes aside, I am beyond proud to be a Canadian citizen. Our country and its people have contributed to a lot of innovation (the telephone, air crafts, vehicles, plastic rainbow money, beer that doesn't taste like dirty water) and we're a world leader in environmentalism. We pride ourselves on our inclusivity (not a word) and diversity. Like all countries we've had our missteps (that's an understatement), but we're constantly learning and changing to encourage equality and peace. I hope we continue to hold up our positive reputation and also laugh at our own cultural oddities.
Anywho, I still have a mountain of things to work on as always. Starting this month I also have to start putting things together for the university magazine that I work for. Yay for templates and more comic strips. My goal is to have a stash before classes start. Luckily for me I don't start until the end of September because of how the new schedule works, unluckily for me that I'll have five courses to complete in 11 weeks rather than 14. Sooooo, yeah I'll be swamped in first semester. However, I do intend to do some streaming of artwork, and maybe a Let's Play of Assassin's Creed Origins cause OMG I AM SO HYPE I CAN'T EVEN. It's so pretty. Probably can expect some fan art at some point. Second semester I have an extended Christmas holiday to catch up on a lot of art and then when I'm back in classes at the end of January I'll only have four courses to complete in 11 weeks. Too bad three out of four of those classes include labs so I'll still be crazy busy.
I really need to learn how to digitally paint better. My style has improved a little over the past year but I'd like to get away from being so nit picky about my line art. I'm going to experiment a little with the next couple pieces to try and develop a looser more painted style. We'll see how it goes. I've been gallery stalking artists like DreamerWhit
because she's amazing and I love how she gets her coloring technique to blend and support the looser line art. If you haven't seen her work, definitely check out her gallery.
I currently have the first two pieces below pretty much done, so you can expect those to be uploaded by the end of next week. I'm also open to art trades if anyone is interested.
