UD-4L Cheyenne Dropship

The UD-4L Cheyenne is a combat utility spacecraft from the movie Aliens. The Cheyenne is designed for rapid troop deployment, dropping from the belly of USCMC spacecraft in orbit and delivering Colonial Marines and equipment quickly to a planet's surface. They can carry the M577 APC (Armored Personnel Carrier). It has Vertical Take-Off and Landing capabilities or VTOL. The main engines are a pair of Republic Dynamics TF-900 variable-cycle turbines. It also has two TF-220/A-14 ramrockets. It has a nose-mounted GAU-113 rotary cannon. In addition to the rotary cannon, it has two weapons pods that are attached to cross-folded pylons mounted just forward of the ramrocket intakes, which sit flush against the fuselage when stowed. The armament on the weapons pods include Mk. 16 Banshee rockets, Mk. 10 Zeus rockets, and Mk.88 SGW Missiles. Two secondary weapon bays on the port and starboard side also fold flush against the dropship fuselage when not in use, but will swing out to expose the ordnance within and allow exhaust space for weapons launch. The armament on the secondary weapon bays include AGM-220C Hellhound II missiles, AGM-204A TSAM missiles, AIM-90E Headlock missiles, and TDA-50S Cobra rockets. The Dropship was the inspiration for the D77-TC Pelican Dropship from the Halo series. It was inspired by the HK-Aerial from the Terminator franchise, The Bell AH-1 Cobra, and the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II.
