Liz's Journey 2: Prologue
NeverMore Mountain was well known for its series of caves and mazes of tunnels both mystical and dark. Long ago, railway builders wanted to construct railway lines through the mountain as a shortcut to the otherside. But while doing so, the work took longer than expected as the mountain was deeper than they anticipated. Therefore, the project was dumped, the entrances were boarded and most of the railway lines were forgotten in NeverMore Mountain.
But several years later, someone rediscovered the abandoned lines, for deep in the bowels of the mountain, in a dark cave of the mountain’s cavern, there stood a tender steam engine, or what was left of it. You could say it was forgotten like the mountain itself, but the engine was also severely damaged. A small green BR 01 diesel shunter stood silent, just in front of the dark cave, nervously awaiting a response. There was first a hiss of weak steam from inside the cave, and then a raspy but clear deep voice emerged from the cave
