"You will always hold a special piece of my conscious, my love for life, that no other can hope to take from you. Walk your path knowing this, Myar."
-- Kaethyr

According to several ancient transcripts, the Ishayrian Eldar known as Myar was known as the ninth child from the loving bond between Farseer Ilyndrae and her one and only mate and husband, Kaethyr. Born like the rest of her siblings on an unknown planet, far estranged from the intrigues of the Imperium of Man and its great enemies, Myar grew up in relative peace and knew not to fear what many Eldar were haunted by in other corners of the galaxy. For as she and her kin knew it, their homeworld, although primitive in lacking industry, was mysteriously safe from the vile tendrils of Chaos.

Myar learnt early on in her childhood a quiet, trouble-free existence. Still, unlike her other kin, her thirst for adventure lead her to yearn the old ways of her people that had since been discouraged after their Craftworld settled and became an anchor for a peaceful culture that had largely abandoned the paths of war. With the help of the planet's native inhabitants, few Ishayrian Eldar who were born there were concerned with the terrible conflicts happening elsewhere in the galaxy's grimdark reaches. Instead, they focused on living simple lives, knowing happiness many believed impossible.

With the last of their surviving ancestors and allied races protecting the sector their homeworld belonged to, there was little need for young Eldar women to walk paths that did not lead to raising and bearing children. Myar, however, with her thirst to see beyond the comforts of her world, and with a unhealthy obsession in learning the ancient war stories of her aunt, Esther, she became a huntress to her village before eventually setting her mind on being chosen to become a member of the Yah'yr; a mysterious space-faring martial clan that were revered akin to guardian angels by her world's grateful inhabitants. And while they indeed protected Myar's planet and others near, they were as mortal as she was, being only fellow Eldar and humans who had long put aside their racial differences centuries ago and adopted alien technologies few among the modern Imperium have ever seen or heard of. Where those alien technolgies came from, only the Yah'yr seem to truly know.

Few were allowed the privilege to join the Yah'yr, and for many years Myar gazed up into space from her village with unanswered prayers in her thoughts. It did not stop her from finding another way off the planet, however. Sympathetic to his daughter's thirsts, Kaethyr began teaching her much of his skills as a former ranger. For years this occurred and for that time Myar was content with what she learnt. The two often went on hunting escapades together into the lush forests of their world, but there was only so much her father could teach her and Myar longed for the excitement of living as his sister did, travelling to unknown stars in search of fulfilling prophecies. Kaethyr initially thought to curb it by managing to convince his stubborn sister to take Myar under her wing to train in the arts of thinking and fighting like the peerless warrior she once was at her age. It was a privilege Myar accepted without hesitation, and her father hoped it would be enough to sate her thirst for good.

It did not. After years of being a pupil of Esther's, the renowned warrioress knew her niece's thirsts all too well and knew no amount of training or living on their peaceful world would quench the fire she had abundant in her soul and blood. This would haunt Myar's parents in later times to come, for it lead to Esther going against their better wishes to see their daughter sate herself beyond their caring eyes. It was not long before Esther helped Myar in uncovering a forgotten portal that allowed her to leave her homeworld on her own free will, not knowing what adventures lied beyond it.

And the rest, as some would call it, is history. Myar's exploits in the galaxy had only just begun.

And there we go! This will likely be my last Eldar artwork for now, as I want to move onto other things before this year ends. What I will say though is that I have had a blast drawing stuff a lot of late. Many great ideas survived onto the tablet and overall I'm happy with my creations made in the last month and-- wait. Is this a good thing? Why am I so cheerful? I'm scared... *eerie music begins*

But what do you think? Questions? Comments? Small tokens of love? Always welcome. =D

Artistically speaking, it's a fantastic pin-up. You have an eye for a dramatic pose that brings out the best in a lithe female figure -and- the technical proficiency to do your vision justice. The colouring is pleasantly subdued and it accentuates the character's physique.

This isn't the sort of artwork an editor would pick for a book cover as it's too muted. It's also much too high quality for regular interior codex illustration. However, it would easily be the highlight of an artbook(or a section thereof) dealing with this particular xeno species.

If GW had the savvy of many Japanese model importers (which they don't), this would make one heck of a life-size "promotional poster". The kind comic store owners use to  reward loyal employees after forcing them to work unpaid overtime for weeks on end. Those same employees, of course, instantly recoup their lost wages by posting it on eBay. ;)

Fluff-wise, I keep thinking of how lavishly the Prince Of Pleasure would reward a cultist who showed up at The Court Of Excess with  a delicacy of this unmatched quality. Two things are certain. First,  She Who Thirsts would go berserk the moment Myar was wheeled in. Slaanesh would sound like a stadium full of fan-girls the moment Justin Bieber goes on stage.

Second, I could (modestly, of course) name my own price.

After all, there are Eldar and then there are Eldar.  Some of them are snack-food but this one, oh, this one is special.

Myar is a lifetime pass to Slaanesh's Party Pavilion, a weekend with Zarakynel, and all the Warp Dust I could handle.

Interesting points!  (And I realise it took me years to reply, so apologies for that!)

Thank you for thinking so highly of Myar's beauty!  Not sure if she would appreciate being caught in Slaanesh's web but she does have some very close calls with him and his followers.  Ah, I feel so damn terrible for not doing more with Myar's story now that I think about it...

You do give interesting food for thought, though, so I appreciate it. =)

I agree with you on wishing this had a Japanese-grade statue, too.  Would be a life long dream for me. ^^;

Beautiful! I love Myar's look--she's a true beauty.

Plus, I love the fact she seems more friendly and adventurous than others in this setting. I do enjoy it when fans are willing to keep true to the setting, but still play around with it.

Will Myar ever meet the Yah'yr, by the way? I'd love to see her interact with humans and Eldar who finally put aside their differences.

Hmm, given the Yah'yr were her homeworld's defenders they would have routinely mingled with kin on the surface.  How much mingling is another thing but I'd say Myar would have met several in passing yet ultimately not befriend any.  Though the order was secretive in nature it was more about their sense of duty that prevented them from any casual communication with the public.

Thank you, btw.  I know you made this comment years ago, but I just wanted to say that. =)

Such an exquisite beauty, truly all pale for such wonder, her skin purest white more than snow but as moon light upon my mind, her eyes akin to starlight with in the evening that shine onto my very soul, her raven hair just as dark & mysterious as the night, for if the universe is infinite surely such is your beauty!
Her voice, speak sweetens prayer apon thine hearing, silken words they wrap around my heart pulling from mine chest, even if does not beat, but lest so but when the life blood of thine prey & foes both alike are to be drank to quench my thirst,
Her blood fair & pure beyond words counting & her soul bountiful in life, never shall I feed lest on other, be them men & or beast alike, never shall I spill blood, but that of thine enemies, your & mine alike,
Be taught mine on the days ends & walk with me throughout eternity, let your heart beat for mine & know that my sword is yours, you enemies my to vanquish, your demons mine to conquer, I will grind them to dust, crush them beneath my boots in to dirt, wipe them from existence, you only need say it & it shall be done,
What saith fair maiden born among the stars, what will your answer be, yay or nay, for if is nay woe to me, for you shall break the unbreakable, pity me in that regard is all that I ask!

... too bad that game sucks
Archanos's avatar
Oh come on, really I get it was not Dragon Age Origins, but it was better than Dragon Age 2, like that one could be done in 6 hours, even with cheats, there was no true plotline, but it did turn out better than some other game that shall not be mentioned.
Elouq's avatar
sure it's better than DA2 but that's not saying much lol.

Yah, yah I get it, it was again pretty fast paced, just like before with the second instalment of the games franchise, there is no way to take your time and enjoy the game, unlike KotoR & DAO, which are successors to Neverwinter
