Under the Sea

This was (half of) my final project for my art independent study.

My focus was on design and concept art, so I came up with all the designs in here from scratch. I also wanted to practice using 3-point perspective and doing a detailed composition.

The vague story behind the picture:
It's the far future where Earth has flooded over in many parts, and some humans have slowly started to evolve into these amphibious creatures. There's some kind of social segregation between the 'humans' and the water-dwelling 'less humans.'
This female amphibian has one of the better jobs available to her - she's an engineer/mechanic helping out with scientific research. The other characters in suits are humans that are on the research team. There's also a fish.

The other half of my final project was making a 3D model of the female amphibian in Maya. I don't like it enough to post it here, but I love modeling, so I'm going to keep at it until I have something good! haha
