Camp NaNoWriMo, July, Day Fourteen: Excerpt"FOOD!"
Everyone's' heads are instantly turned to the archway into the Dimension Rift where Liche is standing, holding several dozen plastic bags in his hands as he stumbles into the room, Shield behind him, holding just one brown paper bag.
Brian's eyes light up and he's the first to scramble over, taking one of the bags from Liche and tearing through it, pulling out several bagels and shoving them down his throat instantly.
Folly smiles and heads over next.
Slowly everyone's heads over, except for Rayon and me who stay seated at each others sides.
I twitch as Shield walks over to us, no to me, holding out the paper bag.
Rayon growls, his face going red with jealousy even after Shield grunts and leaves quickly when I take the bag from him, "It's from Venus."
My eyes light up, "You went and saw Venus?!"
"No, I went to see Yaushy, Venus just happened to be at her inn."
"Oh." I say quietly, peering into the bag. The first thing I see is several rolls, that I'm sure are the same kind she
Camp NaNoWriMo, July, Day Twelve: ExcerptOutside it is quiet, the sun is down, and darkness swallows the world, leaving only the pinpricks of light from the stars to give us hope of anything.
To our right, a few hundred yards away is the town.
Venus glances over, drawing in a long shaky breath.
"Rouge..." she mumbles.
I sigh and hold out my arms, letting her hug me tightly, "You'll be okay..." she chokes out softly, "You... know what you're doing... You're... stronger than... I will... ever be... Pain will probably take me... in less than a week... and... Cuallee will have to grow up alone anyways..."
I frown and squeeze her back, then push her away, "Venus, if he's like you, he'll do just fine."
She smiles and nods, "Yeah, I know!"
I smirk slightly and hug her quickly again before letting her turn and run off, her hands gripping the straps of her backpack as she runs off.
Shield grunts, "Why do mortals always get attached to the things they must loose?"
I flinch, looking up at him quickly, "I... How should I know..?"
Camp NaNoWriMo, July, Day Eleven: ExcerptMy eyes flutter back open and I whimper as I look forward to where the voice came from.
There's the shadow of a child in the distance, one I didn't notice earlier. It trembles and I huff quietly, barely choking out through my parched throat, "I... will..."
The shadow flinches, then I hear its footsteps run to me and see her face as she squats in front of me, putting her hand to my forehead, "Are... you... okay..?"
I blink slowly, "No... Go away... I'd like to die alone... That's what I deserve."
She scowls and takes my sword from my hand, setting it off to the side and slowly putting her arms under me, pushing me up against the wall so I'm sitting. She must be about fifteen, her green eyes shimmering in the dimed light, "Did you come to rescue me?" she whispers.
I shake my head slowly, "No... Go away... I'd like to di-"
"You aren't going to die! Come on, we'll get out of here together! If you promise to help me I can give you some food and water!" she offers.
I purse my lips, then see
Camp NoNoWriMo, July, Day Ten: Excerpt I am everything that came before me, I am the collected mess of what they are. I must keep up in all of their footsteps. I am this, this is me, I can't hide, I can't run, I can't cower, I can only try to raise above them. I am this, this is me, I can't hate, I can't blame, I can only travel forward. I am this, this is me, I can't have hope, I can't have love, I can't have truth, I must move with only myself. I am this, this is me, I can't sulk, I can't cry, I can't shake this away, I can only live while I keep on dying.
I laugh at everything around me, there is nothing that cares for me anymore, I don't mind. I was left long ago, I was torn from every moment, ever second of all other living truth. I am myself, I'm not them, they are me, I lead them, they just came first, walked forward without knowledge that they were born from my very existence, they exist because of my birth. They are my fault, but it's not my fault that they are. She is me, and I am her. She does not know it as
