"Mother of Mist", Rakaposhi (7,788m)

The 27th Highest peak in the World, Rakaposhi, is situated in Karakoram Range in the Nagar Valley approximately 100 km north of the city of Gilgit. Rakaposhi means "Snow Covered" in the local language.

It's a gorgeous capture! I just love the vertical striations in the center and the clouds add a sense being on top of the world. It might be just a tad on the blue side but I know this happens. Have you tried a B&W version?

This is very beautiful, I really like the overall blue tone of the image, and I like how the darkened slopes in the foreground help accentuate the mountains in the background. Gorgeous work, well done!
