Well I think you could probably work on some easy cheap products that can be printed at a moments notice, stickers, posters and shirts tend to be staples. I would really love a big proper artbook of the Naor mythology but that would be a bit more expensive (and time consuming) to work out. Much nicer then audio recordings to be honest, the advantage of more physical products is that it doubles as a sort of advertising... depending on how many people are curious about it anyway.
As much as I want to do physical products I have had no luck in the past with them. I got stuff made, and nobody bought them. In addition, printing things like posters (at actual poster size of 16x20) is NOT cheap one by one, upwards of 40$ unless you order, like 100 of them. I'd have to find a place online to get them for a reasonable price.
I would LOVE to do a mythbook and legit art of Naor book. It'd likely be expensive and take a while. I'll probably do a kickstarter for it eventually. I dunno what even to put in it! XD I might do a few over the course of the comic. ouo I could put out a poll for what people want to see in art books. I've thought about doing a side comic for Naor myth, and that might sell well too.
Yeah, most of the mythology I already have written. It's just getting it onto my computer and put on dA. However people don't seem to like literature deviations and so I was thinking of another way to get the mythology to people.
Sorry to intersect here, but if you want to get the mythology to people but don't think they like literature deviations, why not make a cool layout of the pages and post them normally? Like really design the whole thing up, make the pages look old (or whatever other design you please), include the occasional sketch in the margins, etc. It might take some work but I'd be much more invested in something like that compared to either audio or normal text. If you wanted to make money off of it or sell it in your store, you could also compile it into a PDF and sell it that way.
Because I already have three jobs, including the actual comic. I work 90+ hours a week as it is; I don't really have the time for ANOTHER big project. I'd LOVE to do that, but the time just isn't there right now. The mythology is incredibly important to the story, so I don't want to put it off too long. I'm simply looking for a way people would be interested in it that isn't too time consuming.
Ah, makes sense, I wasn't aware of your current work load. Three jobs suck bro. In that case, personally I'm more of a fan of reading so maybe coupling a plain text version of the mythology with the audio would be good. I know some people who like audio books way more than they do normal books though, so I think the audio is probably a good idea.
That's a fair point ^^ Maybe you could do the audio or distribute the plain text version since I think you said you have most of that done now so it can contribute to your comic sooner, and then begin to work on releasing designed pages or whatever your dream for the mythology is more slowly as you have time?
In any case, whatever you decide I'm sure it'll turn out fine <3 Good luck
