Interesting and dynamic poses for characters. General composition for covers, posters, etc. Digital painting. (I feel I'm getting a hand on this) I want to add writing. I'm working on a webcomic and that shit is hard.
any big picture ideas. I can draw the details and I can draw from reference, but I cannot blindly draw proportions of anything well. e.g.: i want to draw a tree. draw it without reference and it looks like a marshmallow on stilts, drawn with a reference it looks, well, like a tree.
Many professionals use reference and it is actuslly considered unprofessional to NOT use it. Even in my classes, gathering and using refs is a required part of the process that will cost us points if we do not do it. It also WILL affect the quality of the finished product. The only real thing you gain from not using refs is bragging rights and those are really utterly worthless.
Human anatomy and poses. Every time I try to draw someone in a position other than standing with their hands at their side it looks really structured and blocky, not realistic. Almost as if I'm just pulling at their legs and they're not really in controll of themselves.
Wolves.....I want to draw something for a friend and I cannot draw canine anatomy decently to save my life. I try to draw them in a style between anime and realism....makes it maybe a little harder lol
