So November 9th was my 9yr Anniversary on dA... I cannot believe it has been that long. I have been on one account the whole time.

I know dA for most is not what it once was... to a degree I can agree. However it is about sharing art and meeting others and supporting them. It is not about fame or llamas or watches or faves or comments. All of those things are nice, but do not forget you are part of a community that coexist with each other. DA should not be a competition. You need to give things to get them. Expecting dA to come you you right away with attention is naive. When I started out I was very active in forums and commenting. I went to streams and hosted them. Participated in groups and chats. Be active. ouo it will be worth it LONG TERM.

For those who want to enjoy their art as a hobby, I hope dA is treating you well. Hobbyists are mega fun to follow since most of their work is random and unpredictable... like presents... or christmas.

Commission and pro artists can be repetitive, but support them too! (Cough like me) to keep making art we need your support. We often have little say in what we draw, so be patient with us. Comic artists are similar.

I have found great support here about 7000+ strong, many standing behind NAOR with me. Being a pro is tough. It sucks sometimes. However i would not trade it. DA was critical to my becoming an artist. I was a tracer and used a grid system in my first few months, but at that time, i had ZERO intention to be an artist. I wanted a science field. I kinda wandered my way around and found art, and once I did, I loved it! So if art is what you want, go for it. Do not hold back.

I think I remember anniversary number 3 if I'm correct. It's amazing to think time has moved so quickly and brought so many gifts and curses along with itself. Never would have thought I'd be in college for art and you'd be publishing a real life comic! It's good to see some positivity lately. Happy (belated) dAnniversary!

I beg to differ on the pro artists make the same thing over and over again.
Yes, you make art in a certain style, but I wouldn't say it's repetitive.

Anyhow... congrats on the 9 years.
It's weird to think you've been around for so long already :)

I guess I meant they tend to do work order after work order. Most dont find time to do different things like personal work or fanart... I should have worded that better. Lol

Yeah, it strangely feels longer than 9 years? XD like forever, but maybe that is because I joined still in high school and having two degrees now it feels like high school was forever ago.

Same here.
I joined 9 years ago as well. In one way it feels like forever ago, back then I was still a student and everything and I've left school years ago now. On the other hand it feels like yesterday that I thought up that project and I did that art.
