So as many of you know, based is flooding of my inbox, today (June 15th) was my birthday. XD I love all the comments and gifts I got, but off dA and on it! So here is basically how my day went.
I woke up and had some left over soup from yesterday. The place I go to for my Egg Drop soup is a small little restaurant, and I like to go there often. I love the soup. They happened to ask how I was doing and why I was still in town since most students go home during summer. I told them about working on Naor and having to take a break (now today). They asked why and I told them it was my birthday and they gave me the soup for free! ;-; So awesome. It doesn't cost much, but I go there all the time. So that was nice, soup for breakfast.
Also Salem was napping with me while I ate breakfast. XD
Then I drove off to the Botanical gardens to see if the Corpse Flower had bloomed today, and sadly it has not. Here is what I got to see today though!
2. The Corpse flower and a view inside the Greenhouse. Lot's of cool stuff hanging all over the place, you gotta watch your head sometimes. XD
I also saw a few other little things and drew a page or so!
I was kinda bored when I drew these pages. The plants I wanted to see had already been removed until next time they bloomed, so I missed them. ;-; I walked around and drew a fern leaf, a horsetail "Head" and a water clover Fern. Very interesting plants, yes, those clovers ALL DO have four leaves, it's normal. lol Then I sat down on a bench, next tot eh lizard above and drew a couple I saw in a bench. The lady turned around and saw me looking at them and promptly got up and walked away with her husband. U__U Some people don't like being drawn I guess. and they have a koi pond. For some reason I thought of manatees or other weird sea animals when I drew them and they can out kinda derpy. lol
Then a random leaf (half drawn), a portion of a potted plant and a random guy. XD The pencil there is a monolith. It's basically a chunk of graphite, soild graphite and no wood. They are AWESOME. I have an eraser right next to it, though I rarely erase these days. I'm so used to inkwork, I forget I can.
I got a call from my Dad and Brother, I had planned on calling my Dad later, but he called me first. It IS also Father's day here. OTL We talked for about an hour until my phone died and then I went home and got cooled off. It's bloody hot here. Then I went out to dinner with a gift card I was given. I was put at the bar, which I always love, it's way more fun there anyway. More conversation. I was asked if I wanted a drink and I of course denied it since I had to drive home. Through convos they found out it was my birthday and got me a free little Strawberry/White Chocolate dolcini to take home with me. I LOVE those things, and with my gluten pill, cake is totally allowed now!
Now I'm home and relaxing. Trying to not think about Naor or artwork today. It's hard though as you saw above with my drawings. lol I'm drinking some alcoholic Apple cider and some plum wine. Man this is goooood stuff, I love it. I highly advise Takara or Gekkeikan Plum wine. The Gekkeikan can be a bit expensive, but it's SUPER smooth with little bite at all! Very fruity and a low content, only 10% I think. So drink it slow or eat before hand and you'll barely feel it.
I'm going to finish off this glass and then head off to bed. I'm actually very tired and want some sleep. Plus my back still hurts actually. e__e
Also, before I leave you all, throughout the day I have gotten a lot of amazing artwork from people as gifts! And to thank everyone, here they are!
A ton of you said you have stuff you are working on. Please take your time and no worries. The thought of you guys even taking a fraction of your life to make something for me is awesome and I really appreciate it! I'll add all these to my standard feature me journal.
Thanks again so much for all the wonderful comments and well wishes today! I really appreciate it and I don't think I'll be replying to most of them. e___e I have over 100 comments, so yeah. Sorry, but thanks so much! It has been an awesome birthday and all of you guys helped make it happen!
