A possible controller mapping for any game developer wishing to make a game based on the popular anime series, "Attack on Titan" or by it's japanese name, "Shingeki no Kyojin."

This should be useable for PS3 controllers as well, thanks to their similarity in number of buttons.

It's free, naturally, but I'd appreciate it if you pointed me in the direction of your project. As a game developer, I'd love to see the work in progress.

Why not combine the fire/pull reel into the bumpers so it is one crisp fluid animation, move attack from the thumbs to the triggers.

Sorry for the long reply.

Because I want you to be able to to control how hard you pull, if at all. The triggers have a pressure sensor in them, for racing games. I figured it would be better for that, for example: the method you mentioned would require you to hold down the bumpers unless you want the cables to disconnect. This means you are both unable to control how fast you are reeled in and you lose the ability to swing under, over and around objects effectively. Plus I figured since the actual 3D gear's controls have two triggers, then this is what would make sense to have those triggers actually do.

I hope this helps. I'll continue to clarify if you want.

If an AoT game ever existed, it would probably try to target the general public. So a quick and easy control setup is the way to go. However, you can always make it so that a player can go into the options and configure every button on their controller to match their play style. Armored Core V does this and it is actually rather useful.

For me, the best way to engage the hooks would be to tap the bumpers, double tap to disengage, or hold

For starters, as a fellow ACV player, I agree completely.

and on that note, this is what would be good for me if a SNK game was ever released.

(Little bit off topic: What type of ACs do you prefer? I like my light bipedal, mobility ACs :3)

I've been offline for like 2 months, but my last build was a Midweight biped with a sniper cannon, Lamp, and a PMG. Only got to use it in a few matches but a rolled over the competition like nuts unless someone brought something with more CE damage.

Whats your tag? if you play on the Xbox that is :P

The inspiration for this. It was actually meant to be used as a add on/improvement, and I sent the developer the links to this, but no show for now. I'll stay hopeful tho. Maybe he just hasn't seen it. lol

I just don't feel I like how you have to hold the cable buttons in order to stay connected, and in turn forced to accelerate.

Anyone wishing for an indepth explanation, go ahead and ask.
