Every aspect of this painting is superb. The face of the girl is absolutely incredible. The facial features are perfectly rendered, and the expression on her face is captivating. The coloration is interesting, the color harmony is great and the technique is terrific. I like that the sharpest detail is in the face, and then the detail softens outward. The greatest amount of detail is in the one exposed eye making it stand out thereby watching the watcher. To me this painting is extremely successful in every way. The concept of this painting is amazing. The idea of visualizing the transformation of thought is unique enough, but you have accomplished it. I think you created an amazing work of art.

I love the way you have added expression and feeling to this piece on the girl's face and body language, she looks sort of anxious/fearful yet curious. I think you've slightly ventured from your regular style in this painting (by adding more depth and form to the people) which is a definite improvement in my opinion. This is one of my favourite paintings you have done for this reason.
You should check out this artist called James Jean, although his technique isn't the same as yours, he seems to have the same goal and you could definately find inspiration from him, here is one of his works [link]
Sorry for digressing from your work I just felt like you would this artist!

The beautiful colors and ominous looks of this piece of artwork truly caught my eye. Its like a dream, with the paints going down, and the looks of the mysterious man holding the girl. This is a type of painting I don't see everyday. With these mind-blowing colors, and outstanding looks, gives this painting a unique look. This artist has lots of talent when it comes to creativity. This deserves to be in a museum of art, and everyone must know.

What I must say to you is, fantastic job! You are extremely talented and highly creative. Keep it up!

What first caught my eye was her expression; Conveying trust, but a sort of ominous non-willed trust. He is part of her and all she needs, but her own piece of heaven comes with the cost of her will to leave. Not unlike a puppet. A beautiful work of art unparalleled by other art forms capturing the same thought. Her eye and form/position brings a whole new depth to the picture; A dream state comes to mind. The emotions captured in this art work is clear in just that one eye and the positioning, each with their own fixation that brings chills down my spine. The colours and the negaspace (my word for negative space) bring this work alive and make the mind wander. The lining is very smooth; My eye does not stop at any moment along them. I find that lining is key for any good art piece, and this artist has a keen grasp on that aspect. Not unlike the grasp of the viewers focus this piece gathers, and not to mention the grasp of the man around the woman. I love this piece and I commend the artist for giving such a breath taking visual.

THE EYE FOLLOWS YOU! *sniffs* This is so beautiful!
I love it, and the look that the woman is giving. I can actually see different emotions coming from her expression. Sadness, fear, waiting, full of wonder, but...I also see a blank expression.
I really can't rap my head around the fact that, after all the emotion that I name off, i can also see a blank, inexpressible face.
And the person with the arm rapped around the woman looks almost the same. That person looks like he(I assume) is comforting the woman and has some hardships of his own. But at the same time, almost in deep thought. And is fading away as if he is part of the back round. Like the woman is thinking of someone who doesn't exist or someone who isn't there that she misses.

This is a beautiful oil, watercolor art piece. And is truly something worthwhile just to look at.

Whoever said oil and water don't mix obviously have not seen your paintings. I have the highest regard for all of your paintings, because you do so effortlessly what I strive to, and often fail to do. You are able to convey so much emotion into your paintings, whether by virtue of the palette you use, or by composition of the subject at hand. I seem to do well at painting what I see, but painting what I feel is still something I am hard to do with. I love your art.

The focal point of the painting, at least for me, is the one eye gazing out from the embrace. Oh, if only the brushstrokes could speak to me, for I would be curious to know what thought lies trapped behind it.

I have watched you paint numerous times over youtube, and a few other sources, and your technique inspires me. Your color palette seems to be the rainbow, but always manages to convey a similar feel of values across the board. Consistency and beauty are alive in your paintings.

I have often thought it a matter of common courtesy, that if someone didn't think the review was fair, to at least offer some constructive criticism as to why. So, if that is you, then please do so. It is useful to both me, and the artist whom is the subject of the critique. Thanks. ^_^

As mentioned by other critique writers, this is a very mysterious piece. I love the contact we establish with the center of the picture, the piercing eye that leaves me stunned.
As always you used colours and contrasts so magnificently it's almost beyond human belief; it's a new, nice touch you added some geometric shapes as well. Having watched you aspire for a while, I'm glad to see you do your paintings in different genres.

Your mix of realism and the blur of life is quite interesting, it contrasts every entity of this piece. Yet I am forced to admit that I am not fond of those things that develop form his head. He may look like a freak and it works up the effect very well, but in my eyes it seemed that you tried to fill empty space. According to me, simply adding that greyish, stroked background would be more than enough to fill the canvas.

This leaves a huge impact on me - the paintings I have seen among your gallery always tells some sort of story, some harder to extract than others. This time, I believe it is the mix of fictionary morbidity and reality that really brings forth the unique sense it leaves.

As a final note, I am very glad you left the lower right corner empty. It would have been too overwhelming and messy if you tried to fill it out.

This is such a unique piece. It's rare for watercolors and oils to work together in the same artwork yet here, its clear that you have succeeded in making them work. The colors look superb. It's such a marriage of watercolor and oils that the viewer looses track of where the oils end and the watercolor begins. It's almost as if the oils transfigured into watercolors and dripped towards the bottom half of the canvas. I can't really tell if that's a horned man the girl is clinging to, but its certain that she is not scared of him but is rather terrified of the viewer and is holding on the man for comfort.

This is a beautiful, mysterious piece. The splash of green and purple on the girl's shoulder really makes everything else in the piece pop - it really gives the painting what it needed. Also, the subtle use of geometric shapes is something that can't easily be incorporated into such realism, but you've managed to have it work!
The mystery lies of whether or not the arm around her is protective or harmful. If there's one thing I love, it's a painting that makes you actually THINK. And the girl staring out at you makes you want to connect with her, make you wonder what's on her mind.
WONDERFUL JOB, IT IS BREATHTAKING.

Well, to start, I might say that I see this piece of artwork as bizarrely beautiful. I don´t know if the horror was your intention, but at the same time it freaks me, giving me goosebumps because it gets to be beautiful at the sime time. By the title, and the aspect, I would say that this piece talks about the bad things that start so small but at some point we see all over us, as a metastasis would spread from place to place causing harm. By the colours and technique, I would say that you were trying to take something beautiful out of it, speaking something like "don´t hide your defects, they are part of you". This is my interpratation, and for me, it´s what makes this piece worth criticizing. Only you could say something otherwise.

Oh I was wondering why people disagree with your review of this image.
I think it's the most accurate. It may be because you didn't give it 5/5 STARS
There's a reason why it's called "criticism" .
You did a good job sir , long story short
G-gG's avatar
I mean, I could´ve really gave this a perfect score but it´s only a reproduction, thus, nothing´s perfect, and I think that´s what makes everything beautiful.
ArtisticAxis's avatar
indeed , well done
G-gG's avatar
thanks, but I was justing making my best to get the artist to know how much I appreciated her piece.
ArtisticAxis's avatar
No no I understand i was just dissatisfied with the people that disagree. but that's up to them. anyways just saying you made a good critic
ArtisticAxis's avatar
this was the most spot on review. why do people disagree , because he took away half a star from perfect?
