South Africa started a 21 day lockdown to slow the spread of the coronavirus on Friday 27 March. We are only allowed out to buy food or for medical reasons. This is the parking outside the little shopping centre I visit each Saturday morning, to get lunch for the family. It is never this quiet when the sun is shining!

Edit - I have updated this to B&W. I think the starker mood and cleaner lines work better.

This one wants black and white. So stark.

Stark I think is the right word.

Here in NYC we have a lockdown order too (being a smartass I call it Cuomo's Clampdown - after the Clash song). You wouldn't know it as there are still plenty of people out and about, especially when it isn't raining...

Essential services people only here allowed to work.
No walking the dog/ going for a jog either. I basically understand, since we have a very diverse country to try and lock down.
We'll see how it goes.

I think this is part one of a fascinating photographic journal, something that in years to come, will be in our history books!!!

Mmm. I maybe need to create a covidLockdown folder.
But we live in such a photographed world now, there will be plenty of evidence. But to get good stuff, yeah, that's tougher.
