As always, I adore your work and the clarity and impact that each of your pieces seems to have. This piece is no different - crisp clean color, excellent shadows and lighting, with an emotive aspect that speaks to your audience.

The vision is quite well executed, using only a few elements provides an excellent focus on the central figure. The choice of stock used complements your vision well, from my perspective! Therefore, vision is a five star rating.

The green lady of spring is a concept I have seen, and used before; while your execution of it does not mimic anything I have ever seen before, I would recognize the aspect of the season as exactly that - which also speaks to a well-executed concept, entirely original or not! Overall, I gave originality just a shave off 5 stars.

There are a few things I can see that feel just a little off in this piece, mostly with perspective. The background seems to fade into nothingness, without providing a clear horizon is seems that the water just pours on forever. In some things I could see this being a good thing, but to me it makes this piece feel ungrounded. Perhaps creating a small shaded area where the horizon could be would help define the background and ground the foreground?

Her hat seems to point in a separate direction than the rest of the composition, but that is perhaps a lighting trick more than the actual object? From here it seems that the point is coming from the side of her head. Shading more like a cylinder may help that. Alternately, creating a second "horn" on the backside of the head would balance the hat, making it a horned hat.

The only other thing I am not entirely sure of is the darker shapes along the lower right edge. The grass in the very forward foreground is so clear, and the shapes behind it so vague, I am not sure if this was supposed to be land, leaves, or shadows. How that is changed would depend on your intent.

Given these small technical aspects I shaved a little off the rating for Technique as well.

The impact, overall, is amazing My above comments about your crisp colors and emotive compositions stands true, and I always enjoy your pieces for the immediate visual gratification and long-term interest you provide us with. Impact = 5 stars!

Thank you for sharing!

I don't really know what to say constructively other than wow.
I love the greens you've used here, it just makes the entire piece feel so soothing!

Her hair twined around the vine is just brilliant, I can only say that I wish her hair was a little bit more defined and there was more of it in this! I love the greenery crown you've given her and the lilypads, I cannot see anything wrong with them at all, but the lower right side of the lake looks a little off to me... no biggie though...it does not detract from this at all... the red butterfly... is a wonderful dreamy addition to an already amazing work!

I swear everytime I see your work... I cannot do more than stare and be inspired.

This artwork is simply gorgous. So full of life and colours, and love for the Earth. I love this shade of green on the whole manip.
I especially love the lightening on the model.
I feel so peaceful when I look at it, and it really reminds how much I love nature and all its beauty.

The only thing that I could "criticize", would be the water lillies and the lilly pads. I think they look too bright and too clear and they look too much out of the the whole piece. They seem to float in the air more than floating on the water surface.

Except that, it's perfect.

I agree with you when it comes to waterlilies but I guess I was too frustrated at the time lol to notice that.

Thank you once again dear

Oh wow, this is wonderful!

I'm going to start this critique with the one thing that I can see in this that's wrong (yes, I honestly can't see anything else!) Her hat, to me, looks like it's angeled to the left rather then going back straight from her head. To improve it, perhaps darken the top and have the very end start to blur (in a graduated way), because then the depth of field of the image will help with the illusion of it pointing backwards.

Speaking of depth of field, you have done a superb job with in in this photo! Sometimes when backgrounds are blurred it looks fake because the blurr is too much too close to things in focus. But with your image, it is the correct amount of blur at the correct depth; it looks natural.

The lighting also looks incredibly natural. You've select good stock images for this, as the lighting directions. Perhaps the lilly flowers could do with a little bit darker shading right at their base, but really it's not noticable. The bit that impresses me most about the lighting is her right arm; there is a shadow cast on it from her body but also some green reflection from the back of her dress and the water. It really helps with her form, in that her arm is slightly behind her at the elbow and not to the side.

On to the colouring It's wonderful, again everything matches up very well, with the butterfly standing out, which is a great touch. At first you look at the woman, but then your attention is drawn to the butterfly, rather than having to work out what she's looking at And she definitely looks like she's looking at it

I love your alterations to the model image. You've made her plant jewelry look a lot better. On the stock image the foliage around her right wrist looked a little thin, but you've succeeded in making it look more natural, like it's growing from her.

Great job over all with the blending and cutting out! Well cut out images can be the difference between a flop and a masterpiece

Overall, this image is nice and soft, with everyhting positioned well within the frame. This piece is a joy to look at, so lovely and green ^_^

I really really appreciate your kind words and support and it means a lot to me.
Im glad you like what I did with the model and complete work itself. I agree with you when it comes to waterlilies,I might fix that ;) I always try my best with the lighting and reflections so Im glad to see that you noticed the small reflections on her skin.

Thank you once again

Normally i don't like any Photomanipulations but this one really caught my attention. The complementary contrast between the green fairy and the red / orange butterfly is so damn perfect.

Her dress is so detailed and seems to be very real. The fact that she's sitting on a rock or something and her foot touches the water is adorable and stunning. the little waves around her in the water as well. The diagonally composition is chosen so well and her facial expression makes the whole piece of art perfect. I fell in love with this.

I want to see more like this from you <3

Before full viewing this piece of artwork I was expecting to see many flaws and severals blending issues all in the small places, boy was I wrong, you have done an extremely amazing job firstly by planning this amazing concept, piercing it all together and doing a tremendous job at making every little detail count endless through this amazing piece of art.

What I love most is how the light from the right hand side is shinning through a tree like environment, a real effective way to bring such depth into this. A all round stunning job I must say.

"Signs of Spring" is an absolutely beautiful piece! The colors, lighting, and depth of field (which is something that isn't usually as present in this type of photo-manipulation) all contribute to a beautiful overall effect.

As not only a digital artist but as well an amateur photographer, I can appreciate the blurred background. This adds focus to the model - which I'm sure was intentional - and also allows the lone butterfly to stand out more then it would have otherwise.

You seem to have a very unique technique when it comes to lighting, which I love. Though, now that I am taking a very, very close look, I see that the lighting on her left arm is a little harsh - a thin strip of bright green and then the rest is an eerie darker green. I can understand that this would be the case as the light source is coming from behind her, but still, it seems slightly off in my opinion.

The concept of this piece (though somewhat over-used) is quite nice, especially considering the time of year! The expression on her face demonstrates the longing for the warmth of spring throughout a long winter, while the approaching butterfly might symbolize the answer to her call and the beginning of springtime.

Overall, a truly beautiful piece - the green colors setting it apart from the blues and whites of your gallery.

Just some thoughts,

This is my first critique ever (more to compliment actually). I always adore the way you use colors and lighting in each of your work, but this one caught my eyes instantly because the colors are very vibrant. The soft green color used in this piece is indeed a sign of spring. The details are amazing, in example the water effect looks very realistic (you can actually see part of her foot and dress being wet in full view). Last but not least, I love how you blurred the background to make very significant focus to the model. Fantastical piece of art

As usual I adore what you do Ana.
I love the blending, the lightings, how the details are unsharped.

And that is the point that i'd have made a bit differently.

The rocks on the right side are not enough far for me to be so much blurred, the same for the tree branches. A bit too much blurred.

If i were you or i would have unsharped them a bit or i would have decrease their size to put them a bit more far in the background. they look too close to us to be so much blurred.

Sorry for my english.

I have to say, as a photographer, if this actually existed and this was a photograph, a low fstop could make the trees and rocks that unfocused. But, I see what you're saying Kare, so I vote this fair. =]
