I like yours as well! In some ways they are alive though sin we both see him as having a hard childhood ( Be it in different ways though) I would love to hear any other head canons you have if you woudl like to talk about them! None of my friends IRL are into the games like I am so I am always looking fr people ( or pokemon) to talk about it with!
As for getting out, currently thinking that the absolute minimum-maximum are two to ten years. Average students take 4-6 years to pass the graduation exam. If a graduated student comes back to change their path of career it could take them about a year long term. (I'm thinking that's what Kate did. It took her four years to graduate, but she went back later for a year to become a Mechanic)
Kellyn took his minimum two years to graduate. Since Keith and Rhythmi were already enrolled in the School before Kellyn, they probably took an extra term besides their minimum two years. (That would also mean their birthdays are earlier. But I have no intention to make them a full year older than Kellyn at this point xD)
I like how you explain his whole attitude in the beginning of the game. Makes more sense than mine... xP
As for me, I just latched onto the fact he was pretty mean to the player character in the beginning, and basically ran with it into an overall unhappy childhood. xP He is remarkable that in the end he believed in justice and good faith all along, but I must admit that it's also a kind of stretch in real-life term given his tender age. I only maintain that Pokemon world 10-year-olds are probably capable of more things than real-life 10-year-olds...
