Since I know no one reads this, this is for me.
My grandpa is an incredibly talented artist, and has been encouraging me to try to pick up a brush for years now. I figured, what the hell? Give it a whirl. I've been painting miniatures for over a decade now, but I honestly don't think the two skills are comparable. Trying to create something from nothing is hard as hell, and an altogether immensely rewarding process.

I have discovered photoshop... and it is good. I'm starting to feel more comfortable with a camera, and am planning on doing some portrait work next week. Let's hope it turns out well... you'll see it if it does.
