Snehurka

Inspired by the novel "Giraffe" by J.M. Ledgard.

Acrylic on canvas 6"x12"

The original was too large to fit onto the scanner, which is why the bottom gets blurry.

The background is supposed to be symbolic. The red "crosses" (plus signs) represent medicine/science, and the (iron) crosses represent death. The gradual darkening represents the downfall of the giraffes and reveals their ultimate fate.

I wanted to make a tribute to the memory of these giraffes. I am only partially happy with the results.
