I did say I would update everyone when I received the Leopard Gecko I was nursing back to health! So here he is
He was in very rough shape the day he was dropped off to me. He is almost 11 years old yet he weighed less than my juvenile gecko. He was also covered in stuck shed and missing quite a few toes from past shedding problems.
Shortly after I received him, he began settling in nicely. He finally had a heat mat and CHE for proper heating and digestion and began eating again the second night! He became a lot more active and lively after his first meal and after several warm baths to loosen up any impaction he may have had from the black sand he was on.
He began gaining weight back! Despite being 15 grams when I got him he gained very quickly and went through several successful sheds as he bulked up. He has slowly began regaining color as well.
Now he's starting to get CHUNKY! I think he is way smaller than your average gecko due to being cohabbed with other geckos for most of his life and being stressed and underfed for so long. He is so full of life and vigor though! I knew he didn't want to die and was a fighter since the first night I got him. This little fella is a miracle!
He's made it to just over 35 grams a little over a month and a half since he came to me. I'm not sure what his ideal weight is since his growth was so stunted but I'm continuing to monitor it until it stabilizes. His home is ready to welcome him back with PLENTY of care instructions after being misinformed for so long and they're so excited to see him do so much better! I am so proud of his progress and I know he has many more years of life left in him
I want to thank Fayfia
again for purchasing the gecko Bagbean that helped me buy all the supplies I needed to nurse this guy back to health while also caring for my other 3 geckos! It was definitely very well needed
