This is just a brief announcement to let you all know that on top of covering the General Photography galleries alongside the amazing EveryNextDream (https://www.deviantart.com/everynextdream) I will also be officially taking on the Artistic Nude and Fetish Portraits photography galleries under my wing from now on.
Some of you who have been around for a while might remember that when I joined the team back in 2014, it was to cover artistic nude. Then I tackled fashion as well, until finally I completely switched to general photography. The artistic nude and fetish portrait galleries are ones I care a great deal about, so I'm happy to announce I'll be covering them.
Late last year, we released the beta version of DeviantArt Eclipse – a redesign that puts more emphasis on artists and their art. It’s one of our biggest, most ambitious updates to date, which is why we’ve chosen to open it to Beta Testers as early as we did. Not only do we need Beta Testers’ help locating and squashing those pesky bugs, we want to gain deviants’ feedback, thoughts, and opinions on the current Eclipse experience and what we should include in the future. We’re very proud and excited with the level of collaboration we’ve been able to achieve with the DeviantArt community, and we hope to continue this as we further develop Eclipse.
The Beta version of Eclipse has brought many changes (see them here), with even more in store, including ways to customize and personalize Profiles!
We Hear You!
Since the Beta launch of Eclipse late last year, we’ve received a lot of feedback regarding just that: Feedback. You might have called it a few other names in the past: Feedback
After a long hiatus, CRPhotography (https://www.deviantart.com/crphotography) is back in action for 2019! We've taken this time off to rethink what the group does and how it works. Our aim is to make you guys happy while doing what we love. This group is meant to represent the photography community and be a home for everyone in it. We aim to be an inclusive group where everyone can grow as an artist and build strong connections with their peers. After a lot of reflection and many hours of discussion, we've put a plan together in terms of how the group will be operating from now on. You'll notice the changes we opted for as time goes by.
Our Gallery is now officially o
Another week, another change log! Thank you for your continued feedback and bug reports!
Please keep in mind that larger feature requests and issues take additional time to address — but know we are actively working on them. In the meantime, we’ll continue to share these change logs with some of the smaller changes and bug fixes, so that you follow along with the progress of Eclipse.
We’ve also been receiving reports about various issues regarding images, image compression, image URLs, and filenames. DeviantArt recently switched to a new system to serve images and we’re currently looking into the issues that you’ve been reporting.
New deviation background presets have been added!
GIF avatars are now scaled scaled up properly, preserving their pixelated look without any blurring. Thank you to all those who brought up this issue!
Premium Content now has a more prevalent Buy button.
Mentions now contain user symbols.
Fixed issue where mentions would not work when you simply
Thank you for your continued feedback and bug reports on DeviantArt Eclipse!
Our team has been working on customization and personalization options and we have brainstorming sessions planned where we’ll be further discussing how you’ll be able to customize and personalize your profile in Eclipse. We’ve been gathering and sorting your feedback, including the top ways you use Custom Box, and we’ll be reviewing it in these brainstorm sessions. We will have more to share soon!
In the meantime, we’re still working on other customization features already in the design stages, including editing your bio and custom cropping of your profile header art. We’ve seen some creative ways people are featuring single deviations on their profile (for example, see @ellysiumn and @katy-l-wood’s profiles), and we’re working on the ability to more-easily feature a single deviation on your profile.
Here’s this week’s change log!
Header art quality on profiles has improved. If your header art
Hello, lovely people! Once again a Saturday Feature fest due to unforeseen glitches related to the Eclipse release. I am happy to announce they have resolved themselves and the skipped Themed Feature will be published tomorrow alongside the regular Member's feature.
You are welcome to submit awesome features (both yours and others’) in the gallery folders, which are open for members and non-members alike.
Tomorrow we showcase your own art and suggestions in the Members feature. I’m looking forward to seeing your art in our gallery and you favourite art suggestions here.

@heidi just posted a Journal responding to some of the top community concerns regarding Eclipse. we also wanted to share some of the bugs that have just been resolved since we launched Eclipse to Beta last week. We'll be sharing regular updates as we continue to iterate on Eclipse.
This is not a comprehensive list of changes. There are several other smaller or backend bugs and changes, but we'll try to keep these lists relevant to the community's interests.
Reording deviations in Galleries and Collections is now working.
When creating or editing a Commission, the Points to currency conversion is now being calculated correctly. (Thank you to all the Beta Testers who pointed out this error!)
Based on your feedback, we've removed the "show more" button from comments and deviation descriptions. "Show more" on deviations now only displays for camera/software info.
GIFs are now supported in avatars. (We're still working on the avatar size issue — stay tuned!)
GIFs can now be
Now that I've had a couple days to play with the beta, and to read over other feedback and discuss it with people, I wanted to collect my general thoughts together in one spot. Firstly, I'd like to say that I'm coming at this as a long time deviant, a former volunteer, a current senior member, and as someone who left the community for a while and is now jumping back in. I'm also a professional artist, including work in graphic and web design, which I think is important to note since this new site seems to be trying to cater to more professional artists with Eclipse.
So, here we go:
