So... both the 1984 Defender of the Universe and 1998 The Third Dimension incarnations of Keith Akira Kogane, Lance Charles Isamu Kurogane McClain, Princess Allura Fala of Arus and the Witch Haggar Yoba Honerva are all voiced by Neil Ross (Keith), Michael Bell (Lance) and Betty Jean "B.J." Ward (Allura and Haggar) while Bell joined 2016's Legendary Defender as the Kral Zera Archivist?

Michael Bell is still active, so it's just bugging me a little that they did not hire him to reprise the role of Sven Takashi Shirogane Holgersson in the Legendary Defender episode "Hole in the Sky". Now I know Neil and BJ are getting up there, but with Lennie Weinrib (Tsuyoshi Seidou "Hunk" Garrett and Prince Lotor Sincline) having passed on, it would have really been something if they were to make a cameo voice appearance in some other form for the new series.

Also welcome would have been...
  • Kevin Michael Richardson (1998 The Third Dimension Hunk and King Zarkon)
  • Billy West (1998 The Third Dimension Darrell Hiroshi Suzuishi "Pidge" Stoker)
  • Tress MacNeille (1984 Defender of the Universe Queen Merla and 1998 The Third Dimension Lafitte)
  • Tim Curry (1998 The Third Dimension Prince Lotor)
  • Clancy Brown (1998 The Third Dimension Igor and Queequeg)
  • Giles Panton (2011 Force Keith)
  • Andrew Francis (2011 Force Lance)
  • Shannon Chan-Kent (2011 Force Larmina)
  • Ashleigh Ball (2011 Force Allura and Daigo)
  • Vincent Tong (2011 Force Daniel)
  • Doron Bell Jr. (2011 Force Vince)
  • Ty Olsson (2011 Force Hunk)
  • Mark Hildreth (2011 Force King Lotor)
  • Samuel Vincent (2011 Force Pidge, King Alfor, Sypat and Dudley)
  • Tabitha St. Germain (2011 Force Commander Kala)
  • Ron Halder (2011 Force Maahox and Coran)
  • Garry Chalk (2011 Force Manset and Sky Marshall Wade)
  • Alan Marriott (2011 Force Sven)
Even as background characters or one-shots, they would have been welcome behind-the-scenes mythology callbacks to show the history of Voltron has not been forgotten...

If they ever remake this series again, I hope the majority of the cast will be aliens. I don't mind them being humans, but they are defenders of the universe. Why not make a few of them aliens.

I know, but he still LOOKS human. Allura's the only one that actually looks and is alien...for the most part.

Again I don't mind them being human, half-human, or have just one alien on the team. I'm just saying it would be cool if they were the majority aliens. Like Take a look VLD's original Paladins. Zarkon, Allura's dad, some fish guy, some bear guy, and the lady alien that I don't know how to describe. They were all aliens of different species from different planets.

Yes but the team already is diverse as in that Shiro is Japanese American, Lance is a mestizo Cuban, Hunk is biracial (Samoan and African American), Pidge is Caucasian, Keith is a Galra-human hybrid (with Eurasian background from his dad's side) and Allura is an Altean.

That's not the same to me because they are still, of the majority, human, regardless of race. Hell, through the whole series them being of different races didn't even register to me because I just saw human beings. Didn't care if they were white, Japanese, or Cuban. In a setting where there are multiple alien species, the color of a human's skin or their racial origin doesn't mean much other then to create a character. Their still just a human being in my eyes.

I'm not saying I don't like the characters as they are now. I love every single one, (Lance is my favorite) I just think it would be interesting if they remade the series and made the majority different alien species.
Also, thank you for telling me Hunk is biracial. I honestly wasn't sure if he was just tan or black.

Human or not, they still are diverse like their predecessors and it would be better if VLD has a sequel than another reboot.

The funny thing is, Voltron force isn't a bad show. It's pretty well done actually. But it definitely didn't explode like Legendary Defender did. But if we're being honest, Vld is the best

Unless he was killed off like he was in Golion, perhaps?

It could be possible, though there is another possible reason as in the later comics revealed that he had to step down as leader due to drug use and recommended Keith to replace him.

Ok; that's a more realistic but grim way to explain it. No offence though, I'm actually planning to retell Golion as a webcomic!

So much has changed in the last 30 years.

And yeah, its interesting how Voltron is more popular in America than it is in Japan.
