Description
My latest Sir Thomas digital painting, based on the recent Crimson Peak trailer.
Available on S6: society6.com/product/thomas-sh…
Since the screenshot I took was very bad quality, I had to improvise on most of it, especially the hair & lashes, I did entirely different this time compared to previous works, making it look more naturalistic with several layers & a much finer hair finish overlay (using real-hair brushes), which comes out better in print.
Lots of fabric & skin textures again, vivid colours, fireplace & different light reflections on his clothes & hair, with the same ornate S monograms on his frock & golden metal moth appliques featured on my previous Sir Thomas piece: admiraldemoy.deviantart.com/ar… His cravat this time received a different pattern, & his wastecoat a bit more texture again. S monograms & Fleur de Lys on the curtain & faintly seen on his sister's dress as artistic addition, all suitable grunged up a bit, with an extra moth design on the waistcoat button. I probably spent more time on the small piece of sofa, the wood & fabric, than any other area, & added the butterfly featured on the official Sir Thomas character poster as a little extra, sitting on his shoulder. At first the left-hand background was left black, but then I roughly added whatever it might be to give it a bit more depth. All in all this piece took me several weeks this time, for testing & using new brushes.

He looks so serious but sad at the same time. The poor baby, I'll love him forever and ever. 😙
