This looks really great. I like the slightly darker feel the shadows and lighting give to it.

I keep getting really tragic headcanons about Katrielle's family, too. We all saw the similarities between Kat and Luke/Flora, but it seems clear enough that Katrielle was likely raised by Hershel. Are Luke and Flora the biological parents?? What happened to our wonderful children that they couldn't bring up their little girl? What if Level-5 decided to destroy us and our emotions by killing the two adorable kids who we have all grown to LOVE FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS? I'm sure this is irrational, and I doubt Level-5 would ACTUALLY do that to us, but for some reason, that's what my mind has pieced together. I keep trying to think of different headcanons, but my mind always goes back to the thought. We'll see what they bring us in the next few years with this new trilogy (Or at least, I believe it is a trilogy) on the way. THAT'S the irrational and sad headcanon my mind is plaguing me with.
Any of the PL games I played (Emphasis on UF and DB) were really sad and tears were involved, but that... Would kill me.

Anyway, this is a really pretty piece. I'm glad that you're excited for Lady Layton, too!

Mine leans towards 'Layton wasn't a very good dad', just by going how he treated Flora for the first trilogy, ahah. And how Alfendi turned out. (I'm very concerned.) But thanks for sharing your thoughts!!! I'm still super excited about LL, <3

Oh gosh, that would make me really sad, too. Flora was left behind a lot in the first trilogy, and Hershel didn't understand how damaging that was for the girl who grew up alone, even though he thought he was just protecting her (Granted he may have been, as both times she followed him she wound up kidnapped). I guess I can understand why he would be so protective, after Claire died and he thought he lost Randall so long and no doubt still feeling guilty that he almost killed him, he wanted to try and save everyone he could and protect them. Especially the ones he was responsible for and truly cared about, thus his children being left behind when he went off adventuring, unbeknownst to him causing them to be neglected. He left Flora alone so much in the games, it was rather heartbreaking to see her lose her tantrum after hiding so much grief from feeling like she was losing her dad all over again. He could have at least left her with someone else as a caretaker, like his parents, or Luke's parents. Oh, and she was COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN in PLvsAA, probably couldn't find a single trace of Layton or Luke when they left, so I can imagine she lost her mind there.
As for Alfendi... Well, sometimes people turn bad and it's not their parents fault, but you have to wonder there, after all we saw happen with poor Flora.
I can't imagine Layton actually being a knowingly abusive father and intentionally harming his children physically or mentally, but I can definitely see him being negligent, or one way or another favoring someone whether he's aware or not, as we saw happen with Luke.

And honestly, I don't mind at all when Level-5 brings this to light. It shows that even our hero isn't a perfect person by any means.

Sorry for all the text! Don't feel obligated to read it. ^^" LL all the way!
