my Great-aunt see's in her niece
a mirror image,
and I see Mother and a warped figure
of the woman in the photograph albums.
and in me, Mother see's Daughter
and Uncle, Aunt, second-third cousins and Father:
they see Mother-Aunt-dead woman long gone.
And in my Brother, I see tiny hands and glasses
and freckles and breakfast sandwiches
but sometimes; Mother, Uncle, Grandmother and even me,
see Father-Husband-Grandpa twirled in curly red locks and
smart comments in shallow breath and courage
and understanding and Love.
We see the universe in reverse.
