yeah no, bad idea! Don't EVER put a car In park while its moving.....Very bad indeed.
Neutral wont do anything to the car. its like a No Gear, its something most people hardly ever use but its a very important part of the car. However you get some people who use it like a 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th Gear. my car is a auto manual, so shifting through Drive, first second and third gear to 5TH and Neutral back to drive is all just apart of the Game.
while driving down the road, Neutral wont stop the car, if the wheels are turning the wheels will continue to turn you just have no power going to them and using good old momentum to push you along , when you are stopped the car wont move, no matter how hard you step on the gas, you would just make a lot of noise and unpleasant stares. obviously never stop the car in Neutral and walk away from it its not a break and don't Jump start the car in Neutral.
if you don't know how to use the Gear I would advise not using it. LOL
I was curious if anybody else was a avid Gear user. I know I use it every day all day if I'm driving. it makes it easy when the Gear is above Drive and its a slap stick. So when coming to a Stoplight I usually slap the car in neutral and coast to the stop and sit. (Works best when the road isn't steep of course.) that and I cant stand putting my foot on the break for a long time.
I actually learned how to do this Two ways, The first time I seen it was actually at the Dodge Dealership when a Challenger came in through the shop doors and as the guy drove in he turned off his car and coasted to a stop in front of me. I was so fascinated by this I started to learn how to Drive, throw the car in Neutral and turn it off to coast in silently. (I don't do this now due to my curved driveway)
The second time which was what taught me everything was the fact I drive a Camaro. (My fathers) and its so fucking bad it cant stay on during a stop light. So I cant just use the breaks to slow down or stop at a stop light with out killing it. So I learned to throw the car in Neutral and than use the break. One week I Drove as a daily driver ........One week was all it took and I was hooked.
too this day I use the Neutral gear avidly like all the other gears.
