Well sadly I don't have a lot of money xd but the pelts that I love are between 200-500 dollars so I guess my dream mount will be around the 700$ .

Once I see a pelt I fall in love with (a super, super rare occurence) my mind is like "OMG MUST DO OVERTIME FOR THIS!!!!"

....Then that annoying little logical voice chips in and reminds me of the rent, food bills, vet bills and every other living cost. And then caps everything off and reminds me that while it's pretty, I really don't need another dead animal and that I'm still happy without it.

So really I'll only spend $200 MAX on a good pelt, and even then only allow myself the luxury once a year or so. This year I spent $150 on my dream animal - he's a black coyote with white chest and belly and a big, bushy white tipped tail. Not mountable though. Hopefully he'll arrive safely without any problems some time during the week.

The most I've ever spent on any pelt at all was Rain, my leucistic. I can't remember exactly but I think she was $335 or something along those lines.

$700 is my absolute limit right now unless I'd be lucky enough to find a seller who'd allow me to pay him over time, lol. I do still have my eye on a commission slot from you sometime next year, hopefully.

Hehe, good stuff! I went a wee bit overboard with taxidermy commissions this Christmas, and it seems I'm not done yet. I'm still very interested in a golden island if one happens to float through.

I put 200-500 because I found my dream pelt for between that much, but it was snatched up too quickly (the seller seemed to be shady anyway :/) but I think if I was desperate enough to bid someone up, I'd spend 500-700.

Lol yeah the guy seemed shady to me too. I almost bought it last year for $300 but he said it sold when I asked for photos and if he took money order.

xD just my two cents, I thought I was the only one who saw it for sale.

LOL, I though I was the only one who saw it too. I PM'd him really quickly- all I did was ask for photographs I think. But he almost sold it last year? I saw it only this year and after he said it was sold and stuff and then took down all of his listings I was like... Ummmm. Shadddddyyy as hell!

You know, im not sure. If it was JUST the pelt, maybe around $600-$700. Although im not sure why a pelt would cost that much as it is..and thats assuming I could throw that money out the window anyway.
If it was mounted by you then I honestly would go up to..maybe $2,000. God thats so much money but I swear I WILL get a mount from you one day, no matter what I have to pay for it. XD
You actually HAVE my dream pelt that your offering for sale to mount. I think thats the irony in this. :giggle:

awe thanks! if it makes you feel better.............i have another one this year ;) just as nice.

pelts cost ALOT, and the rarer or uniquer they are they are of more value to collecters. that and sometimes personal meaning has no price. LOL

just like there was a White bangal tiger for sale in CA this year, the raw skin alone they wanted 15,000. i paid that for my 71 challenger!

You have another? God Nemi your gonna kill me.
If I could get my Fire and Ice with custom eyes, I would be a very very happy person. But I want you to make it. LOL

Yea, I can agree with that. Id try my best to do what I can to get any pelt I really..need. Not like any of us actually NEED them.. :giggle:

Woah thats. A lot. But its a tiger, and its white. I dont think ive ever heard of anyone owning that. Its rare you see a tiger in the first place, I would imagine. Still, man that is a ton of money! Did anyone buy it?

be my next soft mount if i can find one! :la:
Pfff or an otter since i love those too XD

Aww im sorry to hear that Nemi, i know you loved Tibis :c
Perhaps i can draw one of those for you as an x-mas gift?

I guess it would depend on the item, and waht I had at the time. Since I have no job or anything at the moment, the amount is pretty low, lol. But I was tempted to spend 140 on a par of gorgeous red coyotes who were brothers. I'm a sucker for red coyotes and foxes, but I'm pretty picky with foxes! I would love a caribou, and I'm looking to buy a Rhebok and maybe a couple more jackalopes when I'm older. :) (both in memory of my Opa.)

All the stuff I really want is illegal :lmao: but if they ever were legal I'd pay whatever pretty much for a red panda or african pained/wild dog.

For legal stuff I have no idea! :dummy:

Or the whole year haha. My god all the pretty fluffies made us broke *dies*

Though when I get my job honestly I would pay probably like $1k for a dream pelt. If I went back to school for nursing I would probably pay $2k+

Cause I know I gotta bribe you sometimes ;D but it is so worth it.

I might be getting my dream soft mount; Pepper! <3 About $500, plus shipping. My mom thinks I'm crazy for wanting to spend that amount of money, but I fell in love as soon as I saw Pepper on LP's page. I'd probably spend upwards to $1000, if I could, for a calico fox. Or a silver fox soft mount with blue eyes. Gaah, the possibilities! I got so many that I'd love to get, LOL!

yeah i know the feelling, will be doing a soft mount here for myself. but if i ever decide to sell it will be in the $1,500 range. but thats no where near the price of things i spent for myself just to add to my collection.

i know i spent 500 for a coyote cape, and even 300 for a coyote pelt.

the softmount is a secret! :plotting:

i paid 500 for the hybrid looking coyote cape, and $300 for my white coyote pelt........i spent 500 on Dredd as a pelt. and i think around about 1,000 on that white deer Leslie mounted.

Ah. owo That's understandable, then. Actually, $300 for a white 'yote pelt seems kinda cheap. Dredd is simply beautiful. I understand why you'd pay so much. XD

I'd spend in the 1,500-2,000 range JUST for my dream brindle coyote with custom eyes to go along with him/her - I'd have it done as a posable soft mount for photoshoots. :/ honestly if I had the money I would.
