Frost Bite Glacier by AdarkerNEMISIS Frost Bite Glacier by AdarkerNEMISIS
One of my favorite single shots of this guy! love how the eyes turned out on him. very striking past the grey and coldness of it.

This is a softmount commission for :iconurbansunset: of her Glacier fox!

I really like how he turned out, big pluffy fox too with great coloring. I still need to do some finishing work but I just wanted to post up these pictures. couldn't resist freezing my ass off in the little flurry storm in bare feet for a few good shots with my piece of shit phone.

Beautiful fox, and beautiful mount job! A great eye choice. I am curious though... How can you tell something like a Glacier from a Platinum?

If I owned a standard platinum I'll show you lol. But a glacier is a completely different gene from a ring neck
fox.

glaciers are more pearl like with a light faint brown tint to their fur. They can range from dark like this to pure white with a light blue cast. You could usually tell a glacier by its light brown tint, but as breed standards go, (a pearl grey fox with white face gene, with a pink nose and green eyes) or that's w

hat the rancher told me.
other names are "glacier blue" and in some cases if they have a full collar and full facial mask they can be called platinums.

in this foxes case not even remotely close. There's not enough white and the shade is totally off from a platinum. Its simply not pale enough and lacks any markings that would even put it in the same category.

but like every other color out there, it can be made into a platinum. ;)

I'd love to see someone put these pelts side by side and show the differences in them. xD I've only seen one platinum in real life, and it was a standard one. FrontierFurs owns it.

That makes sense. Fox genetics are so strange to me... I like to learn about them. Thank you very much for the detailed explanation! It really helps to know what to look for. Interesting if they have a collar and face mask they can be called platinums.

For some reason this fox's tail and face mark reminded me of a platinum and I got curious about it. Really cool that they can be pale or dark like this.

Seriously? A lot of colors can be made into platinums? o.o I actually had no idea about that.

I may sound very stupid for asking this, but...... what is a soft mount commission? I have never found out.

A softmount is a animal that has the head mounted up to look natural and real, but the body is stuffed with pillow stuffing pretty much. makes it a REAL stuffed animal LOL

a commission is when you pay someone to make a piece of art or what ever for you. you commissioning their work.
