Game of Thrones (Spoilers) by AdamWithers Game of Thrones (Spoilers) by AdamWithers
Personal piece, 2014; Pencil, Photoshop PS5.

***UPDATED: Now current through all of season 6***

***PLEASE! For the sake of anyone looking or reading the comments - NO BOOK SPOILERS! We can talk about what's happened so far, but not the stuff that hasn't happened yet.*** We're past what the books can show, so I guess everybody's on even ground, now.

So, this was an idea that I was shocked - SHOCKED - had not been done yet. When it occurred to me, I scoured the Googles to see whether anybody else had done it, but nothing came up. So here I am, sitting on this goldmine idea. In case anybody isn't getting the reference, this piece is an homage to the classic John Byrne cover to Uncanny X-Men #141 - the start of the Days of Future Past storyline. With the upcoming movie, you'll probably be seeing this cover more often.

I selected Danny, Tyrion, and Jon for the front because they seem to have the strongest "Plot Armor." Whatever else might appear to happen to them, I suspect we'll be seeing them through to the end of the story. Though god knows I could be wrong. That Martin SOB loves toying with our emotions.

Here's a detail compilation of the headshots from the poster without all the postery effects:

That is an amazing use of a classic X-Men cover to illustrate how good GoT is.

Great fan art! A perfect blending of a memorable X-Men cover (thanks for mentioning it in the description) and a globally phenomenal saga (both in cable and novel medium). Two thumbs up indeed.

That finale was certainly an explosive one. Makes me wonder if "Game of Thrones" had its budget slashed for its seventh and last season.

On a more humorous note, though, wonder how the clockwork opening will be affected with one of King's Landing's landmarks gone.

If anything, having only 13 eps left makes me think they'll probably have expanded budgets to wrap things up with. They're also really good at managing their time so they can save the money for where it's most needed.

A small question: in the 4th row from the top, the middle character, is that Brienne or Lancel? Because if it's Lancel, you're gonna have to strike him out too.

I love this piece! I just find it hilarious how you're arguing that the Hound is for sure dead and then he just pops up in some weird farmer cult thing very much alive

Yeah, well, I wouldn't say hilarious. It's just a story beat that could have gone either way, and it didn't go the way I expected. Happens all the time.

You should put a missing label on Sandor instead, as its unknown what his status is.

An Elder Brother in The Books claimed The Hound was dead but didn't say anything about Sandor being dead, only at rest

That's just a fan theory, and one I don't happen to share. GRRM doesn't tend to pull the "no body no death" garbage we get so used to in genre fiction - that's part of what makes the series so great! I don't see any reason to assume he's anything but dead, though I can understand why fans would cling to any little bits of hope they can find.

Awsome ary work right here.
But the hound super debatable if he is truly dead, me for instance, I don't think he is dead but with that said I also think his story is over and is the random grave digger that GRRM decided to describe for almost no reason once so ever. So to me is he dead, no. Is his story over, yes. Will he be returning to the story at large, no.
What do you think?

I think making him a random grave digger just to have him be there is a waste of time and effort. GRRM describes a lot of things and people for seemingly no reason - it's to add depth and breadth to the world. It's to make us more invested in a given conversation or plotline by making ancillary characters feel more "real." And then, when their piece of the story is over, they're gone and we don't see them again. Hear about them, maybe, but they're basically done.

The Hound is done. People just really don't want him to be gone, so they look at that later chapter and they see what they want to see. You can make it read whatever way you want; it's vague enough that it could be proof of the Hound, if you really want it to be. But I don't see any reason to believe that's the intent of the author. If he comes back into the story later, I'll be proven wrong. At this point, it just strikes me as fans not wanting to believe a character they came to love is really gone.

Thanks for responding.
And yes I do agree that it is largely up to the way you read the books and the context with in them.
Once more thank for responding and keep up the good work your art is truly something to be noticed.

Man, The Hound is supposedly dead. But still there is a slight chance for him to survive, I think.
And about Jon Snow, you may think about adding a tiny sticker on him  saying "Complicated". :D

Absolutely. After seeing those photos of the actress -who was supoposedly be dead- on set (I don't write her name here since I think it was a good troll) we can pretend anyone we didn't see their corpses are still alive. :D
Absolutely great piece of art you have here. Good luck with your upcoming pieces!

Don't forget, though - actors visit sets all the time. Her being there doesn't mean anything, and could itself be one big troll on us. Everything's always up in the air!

I STILL can't believe Stannis is dead. The worst part is that we waited a whole season for Winterfell only for him to be effortlessly beaten by Ramsay and ignominiously killed by Brienne. No, I disagree!

It made sense to me. This was always going to be Stannis' end - his first appearance was burning innocent men alive in the name of his new religion so he could gain power he thought he was owed. That he went out banging his head against the wall of the north (it was the cold and snow that beat him more than Ramsay), meeting an ignoble end after burning too many for his god, alone in the snow against a woman who represents the people he destroyed... that all works perfectly for me.
