Illustration for Dragon*Con's 30th Anniversary; Manga Studio, PS CC

This was a lot of fun to do. When commissioned to create a piece for Dragon*Con's anniversary, :iconcomfortlove: and I wanted to do something that could summarize all the many things the convention represents. We struck on the idea of a dragon sleeping on a hoard of artifacts from various genre properties from books, TV, and film. It took a lot of research to find everything, and we tried to have something there for every single one of the fan-tracks the con offers.

Have fun trying to see how much stuff you can recognize. Almost every item there is from something, somewhere, but not everything. I mean, the bookshelf is just a shelf of books. But there's at least one book in the image that's a specific tome. ;)

Lines by me, color by both me and :iconcomfortlove:

What's the use of wings if you aren't going to get around a bit?

I recognize 99% of its hoard, but I am curious as to who's guitar that is.  Regardless, fantastic bit of work!  I'm betting that the con crew were pretty ecstatic when they saw the results!

It was a really popular piece, yeah. And some of the stuff in the hoard is just generic swag to represent different fan tracks at the show - the guitar and accordion and stuff is for the various music, folk, and old-timey type listening tracks.

Chromia? How'd you get into this mess? Space bridge malfunction?

Not quite - that's a Tron lightcycle. :)

I don't know if that is Chromia in her bike form.  It almost reminded me of a Tron bike, but that seems off too.  So many iconic motorcycles and I can't place this one!

It's from Tron classic. Hard to tell when it isn't glowing, I know. :)
