So, this is an extension of my original DS3 stress test. [link] The original scene contained 8 full copies of Stonemason's Streets of Asia, 3 Victoria 4s, and 2 Michael 4s plus textures, clothes, etc. and was done with Deep Shadow Maps.

To this I added:
Raytraced Shadow Maps on the Distant Light (spots remained Deep Shadow Maps)
1 Dragacerous + textures
1 Fork Tail Dragon + textures
1 Spikey Dragon + textures
1 Millennium Dragon 2 + textures
1 Millennium SubDragon + textures

This was rendered in DS3.0.1.120 64-bit. From the press of the Render button to completion was less than 15 minutes.

DAZ Studio Memory usage at load: 3.2GB.
Maxium Memory usage by DS at render: 6.8GB.

As always, download for 1920x1200.

Man...sounds like you've got a beastly rendering machine of a computer. That rendering time is pretty good, all things considered.

DS3 has been upgraded to the 3Delite 8.5 (renderman 8.5) engine which is SO much faster than the old 6.0 in DS2. Makes a huge, huge difference. Shader rate was still set at 0.2 as well so heavy raytracing (though admittedly only 1 light is raytraced).

This is really well done Adam. Hard to believe it only took 15 min. to render.

Makes the price seem even more worthwhile! I am still going to wait until I understand more. I still haven't even used Carrara and I bought it in March lol.

Well, if you're a DS2 user then my vote is go for it! If you're a Poser user, well, DS is quite a bit different. Try the free version first. :)

I have both but only use DS2, I went ahead and downloaded the free version, if I like it I will go for the full version.
