Adventure Classics 04 Redux by AdamTLS Adventure Classics 04 Redux by AdamTLS
This is the redux of the original Adventure Classics 04 render found here -> [link] that I specifically redid for printing goodness. While I was at it I redid the entirety of the water effects, fixed several minor errors with collision and poke through, plus fixed some omitted postwork (such as the cracks on the helm of the dwarf) as well as slightly brightened it and improved the contrast to add more depth.

When I re-rendered it I did so at an astounding 9600x5400 resolution (so I could print 32" x 18" posters at 300dpi!). Sadly you guys don't get that here. I'm tossing on a watermark to protect it this go-round though so there is no download option. :( Sorry, don't like doing that but this represents the most work I've ever put into an image. Over 90 hours of setup, over 200 hours of combined rendering time (proofs, re-renders, etc.) and another 50-60 hours of postwork (my notes got fuzzy at some point  )

Technical Junk:
At 9600x5400 each full quality render took approximately 37-39 hours and generated an output file that was nearly 80MBs in size while consuming 11.3 GB of RAM.

The PSD for the file, without including maximized compatibility, is 980MB in size. (Takes 3.3GB of RAM to load the PSD!)

There are:
43 Goblins (yes, 43 of them), plus clothing and weapons
2 Troglodytes, plus clothing and weapons
1 Troll, plus clothing and weapons
1 Orc (V4), plus clothing and weapons
1 Elven Ranger (V4), plus clothing and weapons
1 Elven Mage (M4), plus clothing and weapons
1 Dwarven Cleric (V4), plus clothing and weapons
1 Human Warrior (M4), plus clothing and weapons
1 copy of Cistus Sanctus
4 UberPoint Lights

I think the slight brightening is great. The whole picture has a WOW effect.

Yes, I agree. The slight brightening and resulting contrast improvements are much better... In my mind this piece is also kind of reminiscent of the Mines or Moria... What would've happened if they'd let the Orcs catch them. ^_^
